Lanai is based in Palo Alto and we co-create in our office, together, most of the time. We have a regular in-office cadence for team connection and brainstorming sessions, with the flexibility for remote work the rest of the time. We use the best collaboration tools, schedule regular off-sites, and plan for team bonding experiences.

The Impact You'll have
- Build the founding team of 20 that will define our company (mostly engineers in person in Palo Alto with an emphasis on AI/ML skills)
- Create people processes that scale without bureaucracy
- Shape company culture from the ground up
Technical Recruiting (60%)
Take over the full hiring engine:
- Partner with founders on sourcing, interviewing, and closing key technical hires
- Build creative sourcing approach for all roles, especially AI/ML engineers in the Bay Area
- Source and close exceptional engineers
- Craft compelling pitch for hard-to-hire roles
- Track key metrics and hiring velocity
- Manage recruiting tools and budget
Build only what we need now,, but with an eye to scale later:
- Design lightweight onboarding that works
- Create basic HR documentation that reflects our values
- Manage PEO relationship
- Maintain excellent foundational tools (ATS/HRIS), systems, and processes
- Keep us compliant and scaling right
- 5-10 years sourcing and closing technical talent
- Experience building from scratch
- Startup DNA:
- Source creatively when networks run dry
