This is an opportunity to work closely with senior leadership that is committed to evolve the company's Procurement Department. As the Senior Procurement Manager, you will play a pivotal role in driving the Procurement Organization's strategy and execution. You will lead a team responsible for Sourcing, Negotiating, and Contracting with suppliers to ensure the availability of high-quality goods and services at competitive prices. Your goal will be to support the organization with the best combination of quality, speed and cost for both goods and services.

Expertise in Strategic Sourcing, Vendor Management, and cross-functional collaboration (all parts of the organization including Sales, Product, R&D, Project Management, Transportation, Finance and Plant Operations) will be instrumental in driving value and innovation across the supply chain. Your Strategic Vision, Leadership and expertise in Procurement will be essential in optimizing our Supply Chain and contributing to the overall success of the company.

Key Responsibilities:

Team Leadership and Development: Lead and mentor a team of procurement and purchasing professionals providing guidance, support, and development opportunities. Delegate tasks effectively, set performance goals, and foster a collaborative and results-driven culture within the team. Develop the team's procurement capabilities through demonstration and training to shift the organization from a traditional purchasing model to a procurement model that supports both strategic sourcing and purchasing.

Continuously review and improve procurement processes and workflows to enhance efficiency, reduce cycle times, and minimize risks. Implement automation tools and performance metrics to drive continuous improvement.

Communication: Be capable of providing the right information to the right audience. Clear, concise messaging is critical to minimizing operational delays and leadership summaries. Provide guidance to team members on appropriate levels of detail for a variety of audiences.

Strategic Procurement Planning:

Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with the company's goals and objectives. Analyze market trends, supplier capabilities, and industry best practices to identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.

Create and maintain dashboards for Spend, Savings and Vendor Management with help from the supply chain analyst and broader analytics group.

Prepare and present regular reports on key procurement metrics, including cost savings, supplier performance, and inventory levels. Use data analytics and insights to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.

Vendor Management:

Build and maintain good relationships with key suppliers. Develop supplier scorecards for a variety of industries and service types to support a strong supplier relationship management program. Monitor supplier performance and address any issues or concerns in a timely manner.

Lead the vendor selection process, evaluating potential suppliers based on criteria such as quality, reliability, cost-effectiveness, and sustainability. Conduct supplier audits and assessments to ensure compliance with company standards and specifications.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Procurement at Tarkett Sports is a key enabler for innovation and growth. The group is also integral to sports field installation projects. The team partners with all parts of the organization to support the company's day to day and broader strategic needs.

Negotiation and Contracting: Negotiate contracts, pricing agreements and other agreements with selected suppliers to secure favorable terms and conditions in alignment with the overarching procurement strategies and company objectives. Drive cost savings initiatives, leverage volume discounts, and establish long-term partnerships to optimize value and mitigate risks.

Budget and Cost Management: Develop and manage the procurement budget, ensuring expenditures are within approved limits and aligned with financial objectives. Identify opportunities to streamline existing processes.

Risk Mitigation and Compliance: Identify and mitigate procurement risks, including supply chain disruptions, quality issues, and compliance concerns. Ensure adherence to relevant regulations, policies, and standards, and implement controls to minimize risk exposure.

Market Analysis and Insights: Conduct market research, competitive analysis, and consumer insights to identify emerging trends, customer preferences, and competitive threats within your categories. Use data-driven insights to inform decision-making and drive continuous improvement in category performance.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, or a related field.
  • Advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., CSCP, CPM) preferred.
  • 8+ years experience in strategic sourcing, supplier management, and contract negotiation, with at least 3 years in a people leadership role.
