Emergency Veterinarian - Ethos ER Immerse Mentorship Program - Richmond, VA (Short Pump)

Virginia Veterinary Centers is seeking veterinarians passionate about working in emergency medicine for our 4-month training and mentorship program. We are looking for individuals who are team oriented, driven, reflective, and reliable to train with us and transition into an ER position with our team!

Short Pump Location:

Our new 32,000 sq. ft. emergency & specialty hospital is conveniently located in Gateway Square Plaza, just a 20-minute drive from downtown! Here you will enjoy collaborating with a large team of ER veterinarians, as well as specialists in Surgery, ECC, Medical and Radiation Oncology, Internal Medicine, Dermatology, Ophthalmology, Anesthesiology, Radiology, Neurology, and Dentistry. Our state-of-the-art facility features on-site CT, remote MRI capabilities, endoscopy, ultrasound, and more.

Mentorship will be centered at our Short Pump location and include rotations through several of our specialty services, with the opportunity to rotate shifts to include our sister hospitals in Midlothian and Richmond post-mentorship!

The Ethos ER Immerse Training Program

The ER Immerse Program will prepare veterinarians for a sustainable and satisfying career in emergency medicine. Built from the ground up to be different than traditional rotating internship programs, the ERi program has been developed around a curriculum of core competencies essential for an emergency veterinarian. In addition to providing training around clinical knowledge and skills, the program also includes a focus on client and team member communication, professional skills, and life/work integration.

The ER Immerse program utilizes a hybrid training approach incorporating simulation-based didactic components into authentic training experiences with live patients. The curriculum is designed using an evidence-based strategy identifying competencies and skills deemed essential for a successful career as an emergency clinician.

Program Duration/Commitment
  • 4-month training program beginning June 2025
  • 2-year commitment as an ER clinician at VVC following training
