Position Summary
In this role as a Pharmacy Project Consultant, you will be responsible for leading the delivery of Huron Healthcare consulting solutions for Huron engagements, working closely with our Directors, Senior Directors and Managing Directors to deliver the highest quality services and results to our clients. This role has significant responsibility for managing engagements with varying degrees of complexity. You will effectively communicate and build relationships with client executives and management to assess business needs and design and implement measurable solutions using Huron's methodology that meet or exceed specified engagement objectives. Lead and oversee engagement teams by creating a collaborative, high performance work environment while continually addressing issues and ensuring successful outcomes throughout the engagement. This role will thrive in a collaborative team environment while also exercising appropriate autonomy when needed to meet job requirements.

As a Pharmacy Project Consultant, you will develop strong, lasting trusted advisor business relationships with clients that lead to positive references and follow-on work. Engagement Management and Delivery

Manage and deliver defined scope of engagement plan including oversight of related activities, timelines, staff scheduling, deliverables and outcomes providing support to Huron Managing Directors

Apply strong analytical and critical thinking skills to perform benefit modeling that clearly demonstrate the value of our solution to clients and prospective clients

Lead and focus team efforts on data gathering and analysis, data interpretation, process design, and developing solutions to difficult or complex client situations to ensure goals and objectives are met

Utilize proprietary tracking tools to measure engagement progress, benefits provided to clients, and achievement of budget expectations

Client Relationship Management

Build and manage successful client relationships at the Director level and above, generating positive client feedback on quality, value, innovation, delivery, and results

Directing and Leading Teams

Successfully lead and manage a diverse team of professionals on large complex engagements by fostering a collaborative team culture

Orchestrate multiple complex engagement work streams through others by directing and leading, not necessarily doing

Identify new opportunities to add value at current and potential clients

Provide quality control and performance outcomes for work performed by the engagement team

Communication and Executive Disposition

Communicate effectively (written and verbal) to a variety of audiences; must be able to persuade and influence the actions of others;

Interactions will range from routine to complex and include formal and informal presentations, one-on-one and group discussions

Demonstrate a high degree of self-awareness and ability to accurately gauge others to appropriately guide thinking and behavior, especially in difficult situations

Prepare final client status reports and create presentations to clients and engagement staff that demonstrate full command of factual material

Manage day-to-day client relationships including executive management

Participate as a leader in innovation which includes creating and enhancing current tools, methodologies.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree
  • A minimum of 8 years of total relevant experience leading teams in the delivery and implementation of complex pharmacy performance improvement engagements
  • Relevant hospital operations experience directing a pharmacy department and/or
  • with a focus on process re-engineering/performance improvement initiatives and change management, OR
  • Project leadership and workplan management experience within a consulting firm setting with a focus on pharmacy
  • Direct Supervisory experiences of both individuals and teams
  • Current formal complex project management experience using a defined methodology (Lean/Six Sigma or similar methodologies)
  • Willingness to travel weekly (Monday-Thursday)
  • Work extended hours as necessary


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Ability to independently lead and direct teams in the delivery of complex performance improvement engagements by creating collaborative, high performing work environments while continually addressing issues, removing barriers, and ensuring successful client outcomes; experience successfully managing engagement-wide economics, such as budgets, invoicing, and billing
  • Proven analytical and critical thinking skills required to effectively quantify financial and operational benefits for performance improvement initiatives, identify risks to achieving projected outcomes, and develop solutions to address data gaps or risks
  • Exceptional verbal communication and listening skills to understand client challenges, create customized solutions to achieve their business objectives, and manage client expectations around benefits and deliverables; proven ability to create presentations and proposals and deliver those with impact to key client stakeholders
  • Proven success in building strong relationships while leading a multi-faceted change process; demonstrated change management expertise and experience positively influencing change in a variety of complex environments
  • Team leadership experience including role definition and development, team building, coaching/mentoring, and performance management providing feedback through performance management
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain a professional network, recognize opportunities to enhance and expand relationships, and identify business development opportunities that align with Huron's broad set of capabilities
  • Required to complete all assigned instructed courses and compliance trainings
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office programs and tools
