Data Modeling Engineer

The Swift Group is looking for a Data Modeling Engineer who will support complex scalable data platforms that provide business intelligence, analytics, and data products to the operations and analysis mission. As a member of the team, the engineer will work in a multi-tasking, quick-paced, dynamic, process-improvement environment that requires experience with the principles of large-scale (petabytes) database development, data modeling, data mapping, data testing, data quality, and documentation preparation. The successful candidate must be curious about errors and inconsistencies while being meticulous in ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and completeness. This person should embody a passion for continuous improvement and innovation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Research, design, develop and/or modifies enterprise-wide systems and/or application software
  • Develop and troubleshoot complex data flows, or makes significant enhancements to existing pipelines
  • Resolves complex hardware/software compatibility and interface design considerations
  • Conduct investigations and tests of considerable complexity
  • Research emerging technologies to determine impact on application execution
  • Provides input to staff involved in writing and updating technical documentation
  • Prepares reports on analyses, findings, and project progress
  • Provides guidance and work leadership to less-experienced team members
  • May serve as a technical team or task leader
  • Available for off-hours deployments and system maintenance.

Required Qualifications:
  • 11+ years of relevant experience.
  • Experience with the following languages: C, C++, SQL, PHP, HPCC-ECL
  • Knowledge of servers operating systems: Linux and cloud infrastructure
  • Ability to write technical documentation for security (ATO), architecture, and implementation guides
  • Ability to comprehend database methodologies (strong SQL query and/or Elasticsearch experience)
  • Data analytics skills, to include detailed data analysis and metric generation in support of system users
  • Experience with data visualization and data validation routines
  • Support and monitor system processes and configuration
  • HS Diploma.
  • US Citizenship and an active TS/SCI with Polygraph security clearance required

Desired Qualifications:
  • Experience in big data processing supporting an IC organization's operations and/or analysis mission(s)
  • Hands-on experience using multiple programming languages (HPCC-ECL, SQL, Linux Shell) to conduct complex data analytics
  • Skilled in building and maintaining automated data processes in MySQL databases and Pentaho workflows
  • Experience with data visualization and data validation routines for large size information systems
  • Coordinate entity resolution solutions amongst project teams
