A Senior Producer at All Things Considered does it all - develops timely, original content for the show and takes the lead in initiating, researching and executing enterprise reporting for All Things Considered and the Consider This podcast.
A Senior Producer works closely with show hosts, supervisors and editorial and production staff to draft scripts for podcast episodes and show segments. The ideal candidate for this position will also have a passion for helping bring All Things Considered reporting to digital platforms, and support more junior staff through regular mentorship and guidance.
This is a union represented role covered under the terms of a collective bargaining agreement with SAG-AFTRA.

WORK LOCATION
Salary Range: The U.S. based anticipated salary range for this opportunity is $122,500-$127,500 plus benefits. The range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum salaries NPR expects to provide for new hires for the position across all US locations.
Benefits: NPR offers access to comprehensive benefits for employees and dependents. Regular, full-time employees scheduled to work 30 hours or more per week are eligible to enroll in NPR's benefits options. RESPONSIBILITIES
- Actively pitches enterprise stories that they book and produce for broadcast and digital on deadline.
- Actively organizes and disseminates information, with an eye to the digital output of All Things Considered and Consider This.
- Functions as a key influencer on shape, look and sound of content, especially on digital, assisting hosts and staff in organizing, focusing and drafting their stories and interviews.
- Edits tape and writes copy with very minimal supervision and direction.
- Helps coordinate visual show content with NPR visuals and ATC management.
- Actively organizes and executes host field reporting trips for lead stories and original podcast episodes.
- Work various shifts, as assigned.
- Other duties as assigned.

PREFFERED QUALIFICATIONS
- Expertise in producing under breaking news conditions.
- Daily news experience.
- Broadcast experience.
- Experience in Digital Media, CMS.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in work experience
WORK LOCATION
- On-site: This is an on-site role based in Washington, DC .
- At least 10 years of experience as a reporter or producer in the audio space
- At least 6 years of experience working in print or digital media
- Demonstrated writing and editing ability, and experience in editorial decision-making
- Proven ability to consistently work well with others, demonstrating at all times respect for the diverse constituencies at NPR and within the public radio system.
- Demonstrated skill in conceptualizing, planning and executing multi-part stories.
- This is a full time, exempt position..
