ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION:

Established in 1970, Boley Centers, Inc., is a private, non-profit organization serving individuals with mental disabilities, individuals and families who are homeless, Veterans and youth in Pinellas County. Boley Centers, Inc., a nationally recognized and accredited behavioral health care agency, has an opening for a full-time Director of Training & Staff Development.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Director of Training & Staff Development coordinates and plans all agency training activities for staff. Develops, designs and facilitates training activities as determined by the needs of staff, accreditation and contract requirements. Coordinates the implementation of staff development activities and assures the continuous evaluation and quality of training provided to agency personnel.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor's Degree required in Social Work, Human Services, or Education. Education must be from an accredited school, college, or university. Master's Degree Preferred in Social Work, Counseling, Human Services, or Education. Education must be from an accredited College or University.

Five or more years working in the behavioral health field, preferably in a clinical outpatient/community mental health setting. Experience in instructional design and training is preferred. Experience with e-learning platforms and virtual training tools preferred.

Knowledge of instructional design, training, needs assessment and evaluation, training technologies, facilitating training; knowledge of mental health industry, preferred. Knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements from accrediting and funding agencies preferred.

PRIMARY JOB FUNCTIONS:
• Designs, plans, organizes and implements internal training to meet the requirements of individual staff and overall Agency training needs including mandatory core training, new staff training, skills development training, and self-directed learning programs.
• Ensures that staff training meets the regulatory requirements and compliance standards of all funding and accrediting agencies.
• Coordinates and maintains staff development training files and database.
• In coordination with departmental management staff, monitors progress and tracks the completion of required training for all agency staff. Responsible for entering attendance in the LMS database and maintaining attendance records, as well as assuring certificates are forwarded to personnel files needed for applicable training.
• Effectively communicates training opportunities as well as designing and implementing, and posting staff training on agency training sites, and updating the Training Catalogue, including coordinating the distribution to all employees. Also keeps training information on the HR/MLP Training site current.
• Procures internal and external subject matter experts to provide training to satisfy training and development requirements, increase staff interest in training and to provide leverage to the Director of Training to expand the Agency's training program.
• Collaborates with Vice-Presidents, Directors, Managers and Supervisors to coordinate staff attending external trainings as well as designing customized training for specific employee groups or departments to assure that all training needs are met.

SECONDARY JOB FUNCTIONS:
• Conducts periodic assessment of staff training needs and develops a strategic training plan for the Agency as well as ensuring all regulatory trainings are available.
• Assists staff as needed with identifying training needs for CPRP or CBHT certification.
• Facilitates training to outside organizations working with the Agency as a goodwill gesture and to promote the Agency.
• Enhances job performance through attending agency meetings, shadowing agency programs and departments, and keeping informed regarding agency activities and potential training needs.
• Attends workshops, conferences and seminars to continually improve job performance and enhance knowledge of training and staff development techniques and procedures.
• Will comply with Compliance Plan and standards of conduct and report any noncompliance to the appropriate official.
• Will attend all required trainings and performs other duties as assigned..

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Good skills and demonstrated abilities in communication-verbal and written, interpersonal relations, teaching/instructing, counseling, coaching, training, basic math and language, record keeping, evaluating, organization and planning, following procedures/ instructions-verbal and/or written, crisis intervention and such others that are usually and customarily considered necessary for satisfactory completion of essential duties.
