Job Description
General Responsibilities:
Terracon is seeking individuals to join the Environmental Planning team in Indianapolis, Indiana. The applicant will be responsible for conducting field surveys including wetland delineations and listed species habitat assessments with minimal oversight. Candidate will also be able to prepare reports, complete mitigation and impact assessments, prepare permit applications for submittal to regulatory agencies, manage projects including coordination with regulatory agencies and clients, and assist with proposal preparation. Experience working in Indiana delineating wetlands is preferred with additional experience in other Midwest states being beneficial. Experience or permits for listed species presence/absence surveys beneficial but not required.

Essential Roles and Responsibilities:
- Follow safety rules, guidelines, and standards for all projects. Participate in pre-task planning. Report any safety issues or concerns to management.
- Be responsible for maintaining quality standards on all projects.
- Performs site visits, field observations and field data collection or assignments with minimal supervision.
- Experience in collecting data with a GPS and post processing data in ArcGIS Pro.
- Evaluates complex field data, reports, maps, and drawings to plan and permit projects.
- Responsible for assisting in the development of written proposals to clients or agencies for projects.
- Participate in a team with other scientists on large or complex projects under the direction of senior staff.
- May serve as team member in meetings and communications with client or agencies pertaining to specific projects/tasks.
- Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science or related science field and a minimum of 4 years' related experience. Or, in lieu of a degree, a minimum of 9 years' related experience.
- Master's degree preferred.
- Possess effective writing and communication skills.
- Valid driver's license with acceptable violation history.
