We are seeking a Small Gas Turbine Mechanical (SGT) Field Service Representative to provide service and technical services for the SGT 100-400 product lines. Services will include mechanical disassembly, inspection reassembly and commissioning during planned or unplanned outages, long-term-service contracts, and any modernizations and upgrades. This position reports to the Gas Turbine Field Service Manager in the Siemens Energy group, based in Canada.

The Siemens Energy Canada Field Service department for industrial applications serves a growing market of small and medium gas turbines. Our personnel service the fleet across Canada and occasionally in the USA or abroad. Our personnel are highly trained and perform at a high level of expectation to safely provide OEM valued service to our clients.

We are seeking a Small Gas Turbine Mechanical (SGT) Field Service Representative to provide service and technical services for the SGT 100-400 product lines. Services will include mechanical disassembly, inspection reassembly and commissioning during planned or unplanned outages, long-term-service contracts, and any modernizations and upgrades. This position reports to the Gas Turbine Field Service Manager in the Siemens Energy group, based in Canada.
How You'll Make an Impact
- Responsible for providing service and technical services for the SGT 100-400 product lines. Services will include mechanical disassembly, inspection reassembly and commissioning during planned or unplanned outages, long-term-service contracts, and any modernizations and upgrades.
- Technically responsible for all facets of the company's scope of work during equipment installation and/or subsequent service inspections/outages.
- Maintaining the highest level of a zero-harm culture in part by following and enforcing all company and customer EHS policies and programs.
- Planning / performing and coordinating onsite service and maintenance activities. Liaise with project and engineering teams to ensure customer's expectations are met or exceeded.
- Carrying out and supervising mechanical aspects of Gas Turbine Inspection procedures such as visual inspection, borescope Inspection, filter changes, valve servicing including return to service following correct standards and procedures. Maintaining an accurate record of activity carried out on site - Producing written reports
- Mechanical Engineering degree preferred
- 5 or more years of experience as a mechanic on Industrial or Aeroderivative gas turbines and experience with endoscopic inspections and techniques. *Candidates with more experience can be considered for a higher level or vice-versa
- Experience in SGT 100-400 gas turbine outage in the Power Generation or Oil and Gas Industries to carry out all aspects of mechanical installation, commissioning, service and maintenance of gas turbine packages in Canada or North America.
- Familiar with strip/rebuild of rotating mechanical equipment, function of associated equipment and auxiliary air, fuel and oil systems. Familiarity with laser alignment a plus.
- Strong time management, leadership and organizational skills to work with a crew of mechanics
- Ability to write detailed technical reports for engineering review and analysis and understand and interpret engineering drawings and technical documents
- Travel for extended periods of time, both domestic and international as assigned and perform duties on day or night shift under difficult conditions, heat, cold, noise, etc. with ability to travel on short notice and work weekends and holidays.
