Position descriptionUCSF School of Medicine and UCSF Benioff Children's Hospitals Division of Critical Care Medicine, Department of Pediatrics Adjunct, Clinical X, HS Clinical, and In Residence Faculty SeriesThe Division of Critical Care Medicine in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of California, San Francisco, and UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospitals are recruiting faculty positions at the Instructor, Assistant, Associate, and Full Professor ranks of the Adjunct, Clinical X, Health Sciences (HS) Clinical, or In Residence faculty series. Academic rank is commensurate with experience.Selected candidates will join a major academic medical center and established fellowship training program. This position may have clinical responsibilities at both the San Francisco and Oakland campuses and would actively contribute to the Department's mission of excellence in research, education, and patient care.At UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospitals, the pediatric intensive care units (ICUs) in Mission Bay (San Francisco) and Oakland have 20 and 22 monitored beds, respectively. These units care for a multidisciplinary population, including post-operative orthopedic, ENT, neurosurgical, and transplant patients (renal/liver/pancreas), as well as complex GI, hepatology, trauma, and medically fragile children. Pediatric residents, advanced practice NPs, and critical care fellows provide continuity of care, with daily multidisciplinary rounds supported by pharmacy, social work, case management, and nutrition services.Minimum QualificationsMedical degree and licenseBoard eligibility or certification in PediatricsBoard eligibility or certification in Pediatric Critical Care MedicinePreferred QualificationsDemonstrated experience working independently in ICU settingsProven abilities in collaborative teamworkA strong interest in pursuing a career in academic pediatricsExperience in supervising residents and medical students in clinical settingsExceptional communication skills, with the ability to engage across diverse forumsFor positions that are 51% effort or more: The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and step at appointment. See Table 5. The minimum base salary range for this position is $110,500-$333,700. This position includes membership in the health sciences compensation plan which provides for eligibility for additional compensation. For positions that are 50% effort or less: See Table 2 for the salary range for this position.
