Fantastic Employment/ Associate General Counsel role - global non-profitHybrid, NYC Manhattan 2-3 days week role, responsible for US employment counselAbout Our ClientHighly successful, global non-profit looking to appoint an Employment Counsel/ Associate General Counsel ideally from non-profit. Essential that the candidate has experience advising on in-house varied employment, contract, union, wage compensation matters for a reputable organization with diverse HQ and field staff across multiple sites.Job DescriptionAs Employment Counsel/ Associate General Counsel you will work closely with the US leadership team and GC overseas in the Global core department, responsibilities include:Providing employee relations, employee contracts, workers compensation and pay compliance legal advice and counsel to senior stakeholders, legal and HR departments as well as the wider US organization. Ensuring the organization meets all regulatory requirements, drafting and updating policies, driving best practice and providing specialist employment compensation counsel.Confidently provide employment compensation legal advice to varied US stakeholders, providing opinion and guidance on changes to Federal, State and local wage and hour changes, regulatory and policy matters. Proactively create/ update policies, driving best practice and anticipating/ identifying legal issues.Advising the Board and leadership team on employment, wage and hour compliance and changes to regulatory requirements.Foster and develop relationships with stakeholders across the US team, hybrid (2-3 days/ week based in the NY, US HQ with occasional international travel to meet counterparts worldwide or for conferences).MPI does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, marital status, or based on an individual's status in any group or class protected by applicable federal, state or local law.
