CBP Technician (GS-5/6/7/8) - SkillBridge Internship Opportunity
IMPORTANT NOTE: This opportunity is OUTSIDE of USAJOBS.gov and ONLY open to DoD SkillBridge internship candidates who are 13 months from military separation.
LOCATION: Office of Field Operations (OFO), Mission Support Division (MSD), Operational Support Branch (OSB), Long Beach, CA
SALARY: DoD SkillBridge interns are paid by DoD while they intern as volunteers with CBP. The salary range below reflects the pay scale if hired at the end of the SkillBridge internship. There is no guarantee of employment, however, if CBP hiring managers are able to hire interns at internship conclusion, the salary range is: $46,020-79,965 (GS-5 Step 1 to GS-8 Step 10).
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Plans, conducts, and assists with recruitment team efforts for Los Angeles Field Office (LAFO). Monitoring and providing responses to email correspondence related to recruitment program. Monitoring incoming phone calls to LAFO recruitment program. Responsible for recruitment program supplies and inventory. Supports recruitment team with set up/break down at offsite events.
KSAs: Basic understanding or ability to interpret CBP Recruitment program directives/SOPs. Demonstrated interpersonal skills to work with both CBP and external stakeholders. Ability to effectively communicate, both orally and in writing, and to present well-considered and sound suggestions.
