Position Classification Classification Title: Shipping & Receiving Specialist (FT, Hourly) Department: Production/Warehouse Reports to: Manager of Production, Warehouse Manager Basic Purpose: Is responsible for preparing outgoing shipments and receiving incoming shipments Duties and Responsibilities: A successful Shipping and Receiving Specialist should be able to fulfill certain duties and responsibilities. Shipping and Receiving Specialists can perform efficiently in a warehouse and dispatch environment by handling incoming and outgoing deliveries. Receive incoming shipments to the warehouse. Look for damage and note it as required. Open boxes and crates to verify the items in the shipment. Ability to collect invoices, packing lists to make entries into the MRP system. Familiarity with MAPICS, an AS400 based MRP system a plus, but not req Ability to use email, scanners, MS Office Suite, Excel, and phones as needed to collect and process information. The Receiver must be able to open wooded crates, break down pallets of boxes, lift product, and move packages that could weight over 50 pounds. Move the items or pallets received to the appropriate department or designated area. Maintain the company stockroom through organizing, cleaning, and cataloging items on a regular basis. Keep files of goods received by preparing regular receiving reports for managers. Handle issues arising in receiving or inventory handling and then working with the appropriate department to create a solution. Place merchandise in a warehouse or storage facility by packaging, lifting items as necessary, operating forklifts and pallet jacks for large goods. Attendance Being prompt and on time for shift.
