In this highly collaborative role, you will lead project management for a broad portfolio of new product investigations. We are looking for a seasoned project manager to help drive prototyping efforts.DescriptionImagine New Products: Work with a talented team of designers, hardware engineers, and software developers to create experience and technology prototypes that will become the next generation of HW products for the home.
Plan and Manage: Develop flexible project plans and schedules that can adapt to our fast-paced and exploratory projects. You will oversee daily tasks, ensuring prototypes are completed on time and that the pace of learning remains high.
Get into the Details: Help define the important questions prototypes need to answer, contribute to key decisions about the user experience, and work with engineers to choose the right tools and technologies for each project.
Communicate Clearly: Keep senior leaders in engineering and design updated on progress. You will summarize prototype learning and help translate these insights into clear recommendations that inform product decisions across HW, SW, and Design.
Turn Ideas into Demos: Help bring promising ideas to life by coming up with demos that showcase new product concepts and their potential.
Improve the Process: Continuously look for ways to improve how we manage projects and ensure everything is done to the highest standard.
Oversee Budgets, Staffing, and Project Prioritization: Manage the lab's portfolio by balancing resources, overseeing budgets, and ensuring the right people are staffed on the right things.Minimum QualificationsBachelor’s Degree in EngineeringAt least 7 years of project management experienceAt least 5 years working with consumer facing SW or HW productsExceptional ability to build relationships, build cross-functional teams, and exert effective influence in a matrix organization.Excellent written and oral communication skillsA curious and competent generalist with basic knowledge of HWE, SWE, and DesignPreferred QualificationsA curious and competent generalist with basic knowledge of HWE, SWE, and DesignExperience working with teams of diverse technical backgrounds and quickly learning from them5 years of managing cross-functional teams in a matrixed organization5 years experience working with designersAbility to think strategically, while driving tactical detailsPay & BenefitsAt Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $165,500 and $293,800, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs.
