Medical Director of Adolescent Medicine

The MetroHealth System is an integrated health system with an acute care hospital housing a Level I Adult Trauma and Burn Center, a skilled nursing facility and more than 25 locations throughout northeastern Ohio. It is an outstanding public, safety-net academic medical system affiliated with Case Western Reserve University and provides medical, pharmacy, dental, behavioral health, and vision services to diverse underserved communities in Cuyahoga County/Cleveland Ohio and surrounding areas.
We are seeking a dynamic faculty member to join our team as Medical Director of the Division of Adolescent Medicine. We provide care for all aspects of teenager and young adult health, including eating disorders, LGBTQIA+ care, reproductive health, sexual health, and mental health. We also partner across disciplines to provide on-site nutritional, psychological, and psychiatric care and consultation to provide quality, evidence-based care for all our patients. Our team consists of pediatricians/adolescent medicine experts, psychologists, psychiatrists, dietitians, social workers and other pediatric subspecialties, as needed.
Requirements:
- Doctor Osteopathy (D.O.) or Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) required.
- Board Certified / Board Eligible in Adolescent Medicine
- Board Certified / Board Eligible in Pediatrics, Family Medicine, Internal Medicine or MedPeds
Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular thorough examinations on patients to check and record their health and normal physical development
- Reach an informed diagnosis based on scientific knowledge and individual medical history
- Prescribe medications and give detailed instructions for administration
- Prescribe and interpret appropriate lab tests to gain more information for possible infections or abnormalities
- Prepare and administer vaccines according to the governmental vaccination plan
- Examine and treat injuries and refer patients to physicians of other disciplines when necessary
- Keep updated records of patients’ illnesses, surgeries or other medical episodes (allergic shocks, injuries etc.)
