Sr. Paralegal, Product Liability Litigation

Tesla is seeking a talented Sr. Paralegal to join our legal team. This role will directly support Tesla's Product Liability Litigation Team which manages pre-litigation and litigation matters involving vehicle accidents and other claims of alleged defects with Tesla vehicles. The ideal candidate will have technical acumen and experience with various types of litigation including pre-litigation demands, litigation matters, arbitrations, preservation requests, and subpoenas. This role is expected to develop business relationships with both the legal team and internal business leaders and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Support internal and external litigation counsel in all stages of litigation, both administrative and substantive, with little supervision
  • Assist with the factual development and analysis of cases, including coordination with the relevant business teams, gathering, and reviewing documents, and creating timelines
  • Manage the discovery process, including the collection, retention, and production of documents, drafting written responses to discovery, and setting up and maintaining document review platforms
  • Draft basic legal documents, including settlement agreements, document retention notices, and engagement and response letters
  • Prepare court documents for filing
  • Maintain the litigation calendar and monitor case dockets making sure to apprise colleagues of upcoming deadlines
Requirements
  • 5+ years of relevant experience handing litigation matters,experience running state/federal trials a plus
  • Degree in Law and/or Paralegal certification preferred or equivalent experience and evidence of exceptional ability
  • Litigation law firm and/or automotive insurance company experience required, in-house experience a plus
  • Demonstrated ability to work efficiently, flexibly, prioritize workflow, meet demanding deadlines, and manage multi-dimensional projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Understanding and comfort with litigation motion practice, discovery, arbitrations, and trials. eDiscovery and Appellate experience a plus
  • Proven track record of learning quickly, taking initiative, working proactively, being resourceful, and taking on additional responsibility
  • Strong organizational, analytical, fact-finding, technology, and negotiation skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

      $84,000 - $198,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits

      Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
