We are currently searching for an experienced Drainage Project Engineer to support our Southwest Region located in Texas.
What you'll be doing:
- Collecting and analyzing data for inclusion in Project Plans and reports
- Using computer engineering software to design stormwater management and storm drain systems, as well as soil erosion and sediment control systems
- Analyzing and designing hydrologic and hydraulic models for Transportation Improvement projects
- Permitting with different Regulatory and Water Management agencies
- Assisting and preparing project plans using the latest CADD software including but not limited to MicroStation, OpenRoads, Civil3D, and/or AutoCADD, among others
- Contributing to the preparation and/or modification of considerable scope and complexity engineering reports and calculations for a wide variety of projects
- Preparing and assisting in the preparation of project construction details, quantities, cost estimates and project specifications
- Reviewing project quantity estimates, details, and check calculations and drawings for compliance to project requirements
- Preparing and assisting with the preparation of project schedules
- Collaborating across multiple disciplines, subconsultants, and other professionals to successfully deliver quality projects within budget and schedule
- Overseeing project design activities, supervising production efforts, and mentoring junior level support staff and other designers
- Performing other professional, management, marketing and networking duties as assigned
What you need to have:
- Bachelor's of Science in Civil Engineering (Master's in water resources fields a plus)
- Valid Professional Engineering Licensure (P.E.) preferred or the ability to acquire it within 6 months
- 4 - 6 years of relative/progressive drainage/water resources and TxDOT experience
- Experience with MicroStation, Geopak, Civil3D, Storm CAD, ORD, ICPR, HEC-RAS, GIS and/or SUDA software
- Previous TxDOT Drainage design experience and strong knowledge of TxDOT standards and procedures
