Leidos Defense Systems Sector, is seeking a Senior Thermal Analyst to join a talented engineering team that develops critical defense and aerospace systems. Primary Responsibilities:
The candidate will perform the thermal analysis of structural, electronic, and mechanical systems and support various test activities. The position requires use of hand analysis methods, finite volume models/simulations, finite element models/simulations, finite difference models/simulations, and other analysis tools to produce models, perform analysis, calculations, data reduction, and correlate test results to thermal and flow models. This analysis will include detailed steady state and/or transient thermal analyses utilizing standard industry programs.
Candidate will work in a team environment to support conceptual design through product implementation and should be able to lead a thermal analysis team throughout the development lifecycle.

Pay Range: Pay Range $81,250.00 - $146,875.00

Basic Qualifications:
- The candidate must possess a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or equivalent degree from an ABET-accredited university.
- Candidate must have at least a BS degree and four (4) years' experience (or an MS degree and 2 years) performing thermal analysis in the aerospace and defense industry.
- Candidate is required to have proven working knowledge with any of the commercial thermal analysis and CFD tools (e.g., STAR-CCM+, Thermal Desktop/SindaFluint, ANSYS, SolidWorks FlowSimulation, etc.).
- Candidate must be able to write technical reports and present data to a multi-disciplined team.
- The position requires candidates to be capable of performing in a collaborative engineering environment working closely with multi-disciplinary teams.
- Candidate must be capable of working as part of a larger analysis team or working as the sole analyst on a project.
- Candidate must have experience mentoring and leading younger analysts.
- Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Secret Clearance or meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Clearance.
- Candidate must be a resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville, AL area.

- Aerothermal analysis
- Charring and ablation prediction
- Fluid lumped capacitance modeling
- Electronics cooling analysis
- Thermal analysis of orthotropic materials
- Structural analysis
- FEMAP/Nastran
- Coupled thermal-structural analysis
