Leidos currently has an opening on the Navy Service Management, Integration and Transport (SMIT) Contract for a Domain Architect responsible for the Navy's Wireless Networking and Passive Infrastructure. This is an exciting opportunity to use your experience and leadership skills to successfully execute the mission of the Navy's largest IT services program: SMIT. Under the SMIT Contract, the Leidos team delivers the core backbone of the Navy-Marine Corps Intranet, including cybersecurity services, network operations, network engineering, service desk, and data transport. Ultimately, Leidos supports the Navy in unifying its shore-based networks and data management to improve capability and services while also saving significant dollars by focusing efforts under one enterprise network. This position is highly focused on the Navy's networks requiring business acumen, a rich technical skillset requires network architecture, engineering, operations support, automation knowledge, management, strategic vision, oversight, extensive knowledge of IP Networking, Wireless LAN, Public and Private 4G/5G wireless networking, inside/outside plant, power, equipment racks, cable management, security controls, compliance, and configuration discipline.
Qualified candidates will demonstrate professionalism and the ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced and mission-focused environment. This position requires highly qualified individuals already possessing an active US DoD SECRET security clearance.

Primary Responsibilities
- The WLAN/Passive Infrastructure Domain Architect is responsible for:
- Applies WLAN, mobile networking, and passive infrastructure Subject Matter Expertise (SME) and thought leadership to one of the largest private Intranets in the world.
- Leads the development of WLAN, mobile networking, ISP/OSP solutions and strategies to execute the US Navy's mission.
- Demonstrates knowledge and application of DoD and Navy network policies and directives.
- Collaborates with the team to conduct trade studies/analyses of alternatives that support WLAN, mobile networking, and network infrastructure architecture concepts for software and hardware, including designing, developing, and analyzing products and capabilities
- In close coordination with the Chief Architect and Chief Engineer, identifies technology and solution roadmaps to improve mission enterprise capabilities resulting in increased contract growth and improved customer satisfaction.
- Defines Technology Roadmaps and communicates architecture vision/solutions/innovation to the customer and stakeholders.
- Partners with the SMIT PMO team in supporting:
- Shaping and development of technical solutions
- RFP responses
- White papers
- Understanding and participating in the development of new business strategies and on-contract growth
- Assessing current and future WLAN, mobile network, and network infrastructure related skills and technology needs.
- Evaluates and recommends technologies, tools, and processes to ensure successful customer outcomes.
- Provides technical guidance and leadership to program team members; encourages innovative solutions to solve complex customer problems.
- Participates in the Leidos SMIT Engineering Review Board
- Collaborates with other Domain Architects in cases of capability overlap
- Collaborates with teams to develop Network Transformation approaches.
- Provides subject matter expertise into new business:
- Reviews plans, iterating requirements and addressing questions with the customer to achieve requirements lock prior to RFP release to Leidos.
- Develops and/or Reviewing statements of work for Sub-Contractors
- Executes and/or oversees system engineering and architecture tasks
- Reviews and provides inputs to proposal documentation
- Researches and presents technologies that improve user experience.
- Provides technical guidance and oversight to the Engineering Team:
- Provides guidance related to the integration of engineered systems into the existing environment.
- Provides system function information to Assessment and Authorization for system accreditation.
- Packages Diagrams, A&A Plans, etc...
- Resolves technical conflicts for system integration.
- Provides lab guidance for minimal viable products to ensure appropriate testing of systems and system interfaces.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree preferred in STEM or relevant field, or comparable experience with an additional 12 years or a Master of Science degree with 10 years of overall related experience.
- Exceptional written and oral communications and ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical managers and customers
- Exceptional problem solving, creative thinking, and time management skills
- Currently possess and ability to maintain an active DoD Secret security clearance
- Minimum of DoD 8570.01 IAT Level II Certification required prior to onboarding and must maintain certification while supporting the SMIT Contract: CompTIA Security+, Cisco CCNA Security, or ISC2 Systems Security Certified Professional (See DoD 8570.01-M Appendix 3 for valid certifications). CASP or CISSP Preferred.
- Expert knowledge of WLAN architecture, specifically Aruba Networks WLAN solutions. Arista and Cisco are also desired, but not required.
- In-depth understanding of TCP/IP networking, ports, protocols, and the OSI model.
- Extensive knowledge of WLAN and mobile networking concepts, platforms, management tools, and application of each
- Knowledge of Radio Access Networks, 5G, public and private LTE, and emerging mobile networking technologies
- Knowledge of Inside/Outside Plant Infrastructure and Network Infrastructure Solution Space
- Experienced and adept at developing and maintaining technical documents, analyses, and reports
- Experience presenting to client stakeholders and company management
- Ability to travel (local and long distance) up to 0-25% including the possibility of OCONUS travel
- Ability to conduct advanced technical analysis to provide solutions for network optimization and redundancy within compliance with DISA STIGs.

Preferred Qualifications
- Applicable recent experience with the Enterprise level of the Marine Corps Enterprise Network, processes, and procedures.
- Unified Communications experience highly desired
- 20+ years of IT experience in multiple technical disciplines within DoD environment
- Advanced Agile or ITIL certifications.
- Information Assurance Technical (IAT) III and Information Assurance Management (IAM) Level III certifications highly desired such as CISSP, CASP+, etc...
- Applicable Domain-Specific, Advanced-level Technology certification such as CCNP Enterprise, CCNP Security, Aruba certifications, etc...
- ICSI/Industry certifications
