Join our team as a Hospitalist in scenic southwestern New Hampshire near West Peterborough, in a dynamic and flexible locum tenens role. This opportunity is ideal for experienced hospitalists seeking variety, and the chance to contribute to quality patient care in an underserved patient population within an established, supportive team environment.
Position Overview:- Start Date: Flexible; building a pool of candidates for ongoing needs
- Coverage Type: On-site and call coverage with variable shifts
- Facility Overview: 120-bed facility with a diverse patient population and full access to comprehensive services and resources
- Primary Shifts:
- Service A: 7 a.m. - 7 p.m.
- Service B: 8 a.m. - 4 p.m.
- Service C: 7 a.m. - 3 p.m. (On-call 7 a.m. - 11 a.m.); additional on-call shifts from 3 p.m. - 7 p.m.
- Weekend Coverage: Two 12-hour shifts, with a surge in coverage as needed
- Call Rotation:
- No additional call-back requirements once the rotation is complete
- Daily Patient Encounters: Manage a patient census ranging from 15 to 22, depending on shift volume
- ICU Coverage: Rounds in an open ICU, supported by an on-site intensivist for procedures, drips, and ventilator management
- Consultations: 1-2 daily consults with Behavioral Health or Surgery as needed
- Admission/Discharge: 10-12 daily admissions with efficient support from case managers for follow-up and coordination
- Collaborative Care Team: Work alongside a multidisciplinary support team, including PT, OT, respiratory therapy, and case managers
- Experience: Seasoned providers comfortable with managing 18-20+ daily encounters
- Licensure: New Hampshire licensure required
- Credentialing: Case logs required; emergency privileges may be available as needed
- Orientation: Includes two 12-hour orientation/shadow shifts for hands-on learning and system orientation
- Census Management: Hospitalists will work in a trauma-informed environment (Level II trauma center), although trauma cases are typically handled by a dedicated surgery team.
- Patient Population: Primarily underserved individuals, contributing to a fulfilling, community-centered healthcare experience
- Special Procedures: Not required; focus remains on high-quality patient care and case management
