Duke University's Center for Aging has an immediate opening for a part-time Administrative Manager offering support to the Duke Dementia Family Support Program. The Duke Dementia Family Support Program (DDFSP) offers education, support, and engagement for those impacted by memory disorders.

General Description

This position will provide education and support to people living with dementia and their families.

Location: This role offers a flexible, primarily remote schedule.

Work Hours: Apart from limited scheduled daytime meetings, the ten hours are flexible.

Work Performed:

This position is responsible for communicating with the team and manager as needed to ensure the program's success. Specific responsibilities are below:

1. E-newsletter: Select and write the non-calendar sections of the DDFSP monthly e-news.

2. Webinar coordination: Recruit and schedule speakers for the monthly educational webinar

series, Caregiver Connections, and manage all pre-webinar logistics.

3. Support groups:

a. Facilitate or co-facilitate three caregiver support groups and provide coverage for additional groups as needed.

b. Present at Memory Makers: An Early-Stage Memory Loss Educational Support Program

4. Event staffing: As needed, staff engagement, outreach and community events.

5. Projects: Work with DDFSP staff on special projects including the creation of caregiver guides

and educational materials.

6. Office management: Complete office tasks necessary to the program's work, including, but not

limited to entering data in our client tracking system REDCap and iContact.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities
• Adherence to the practice standards and ethical guidelines of NASW.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Extensive knowledge of dementia required.
• Minimum of ten years of experience working with individuals and families living with dementia.
• Proficient in newsletter writing and editing.

Required Qualifications at this Level

Education/Training

Work requires a general business back ground generally equivalent to a bachelor's degree in a business-related field.

Experience

Work requires 4 years related business or administrative experience to acquire competence in applying general personnel practices, accounting and budgeting principles and coordination of major administrative functions.

A master's degree in a business-related field may be substituted for 2 years' experience.

OR ANY OTHER EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF RELEVANT EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

Preferred: Master's degree in social work from an accredited school of social work.
