HOURS: 7:30am 4:00pm or 8am 4:30pm, Monday through Friday

REPORTS TO: Engineering Manager

80% of time will be spent hands-on on the floor. 20% of time will be spent on administrative tasks.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supervise maintenance staff of 3.
  • Review work orders, assign tasks to employees and verify the quality of work performed.
  • Oversee and participate in preventive maintenance program including timely completion and appropriate documentation.
  • Coordinate, schedule, perform and/or direct all interior building maintenance including HVAC, painting, floor care, electrical systems, plumbing systems, etc.
  • Dismantle defective machines & equipment. Install new or repaired parts, following specifications & blueprints, using precision measuring instruments & hand tools.
  • Interact with other departments as technical resource for manufacturing processes and equipment operation.
  • Process enhancement, testing methodology & failure analysis.
  • Maintain all records necessary to the machine & maintenance shop.
  • Ensure all equipment has proper safety controls and devices.
  • Equipment troubleshooting, solution recommendations and identification of opportunities for improvement.
  • Maintain dies and die components including cleaning, lubrication, wear component replacement, and surface re-finishing.
  • Document and control proper levels and overall inventories of replacement parts. Create and maintain Kanban system for common components.
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities including but not limited to equipment, processes, and procedures. Contribute to Lean ideas and projects.
  • Repair and fabricate parts that cannot be purchased economically or timely.
  • Hands on machine building as needed.
  • Layout and wiring of control panels based on schematics.
  • Prototype development and testing.
  • Modify existing designs to develop or improve products and facilitate manufacturing processes.
  • Monitor progress of repairs and PMs and report status to Engineering Manager.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
  • Supervisory/lead person experience required.
  • Minimum 10 years of mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in industrial maintenance practices.
  • Familiarity with electrical systems and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Experience with lathe & mills required.
  • Proficient use of measuring & gauging tools & instruments,
  • Ability to self-direct workflow in logical order and the workflow of staff.
  • Experience with motion control, PLC logic, grinding, and punch press operations desirable.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Will be trained to operate a forklift.
