Summary

ASM, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities, has an excellent and immediate opening for the Director of Safety & Emergency Management for ASM Global Jacksonville.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Serve as the enterprise focal point for security incident response planning and execution both on an Event Day & Non-Event Day.
  • Assumes the responsibility of Unified Command for all major events at all ASM Global Jacksonville managed venues.
  • Develop scopes of work and contracts for security services with subcontracted security providers for all events and venues.
  • Oversee the operation, supervision and strategies of the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office, Jacksonville Fire & Rescue Department and Emergency Preparedness Department as related to their role within the structure of event, planning and venue management, at the ASM Global Jacksonville managed venues.
  • Oversee pre-existing security company contract and scheduling for events and building operations.
  • Lead the direction of all security and safety situations in consultation with ASM Global employees.
  • Assist with the development and administration of the safety & security programming and develop, revise, and advise key personnel of emergency procedures, working with other ASM Global employees, City of Jacksonville representatives along with tenants, partners & hirers.
  • Establish/maintain robust customer relationships to ensure complete understanding of customer processes to enable the delivery of viable security responses.
  • Responsible for participating in the planning, developing, and implementing security plans, and security programs and support the development of Emergency Response and Crisis Management Plans, Physical Security, Information Protection, Incident Management and/or Investigation applicable to both Event Day & Non-Event Day operations.
  • Maintains knowledge of the industry trends, current safety/security issues and Security technology and update management on risk and threat that could impact company business whilst proposing suggested operational and technology changes and/or enhancements.
  • Development and implementation of a security strategy designed to provide a high level of security over physical facilities and data processing while preserving and enhancing facility and system usability.
  • Develop and implement flexible security solutions.
  • Oversee the continuous monitoring and protection of facilities, personnel, and information systems.
  • Evaluate & document suspected security breaches (both on event day and non-event day) and recommend corrective actions (including incidents involving outside vendors).
  • Responsible for providing leadership, advice, and counsel to all staff, tenants and hirers on safety/security policies and practices. Identifies exposures and recommend and develop corrective plans as appropriate.
  • Other duties may be assigned.


Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Overarching management oversight of Safety and Security departments and programming for all ASM Global Jacksonville managed venues.
  • Coordinate and manage all security, law enforcement, and public safety operations for ASM-Managed events and venues in partnership with General Manager, Assistant General Manager/s & Building Directors.

Most meet the physical demands of the job, which include being able to get around the facility, requires personal mobility, lifting and heavy lifting up to 75 lbs. at times. Ability to carry, move items from one location to another, climbing, and working from various heights: as well from time to time sitting for an extended period of time. Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, power tools and to handle the computer components. Occasionally inspect cables in floors and ceilings. Work extended and/or irregular hours including nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed.

  • Demonstrated expert knowledge in all security-related topics and situations, preferably in major venues & events.

• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both verbally and in writing and to lead presentations, training courses, and effective meetings.

• Demonstrated integrity, independent thinking, judgment, and respect for others.

Education and/or Experience

  • A college degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and work experience in relevant technical competency area.
  • Minimum of 5 years of management experience with at least 3 of which in a security related area in a leadership capacity in the sports & entertainment industry; NFL or any other major league experience preferred.


Computer Skills
• Strong knowledge of MS Office and Excel applications.

Other Qualifications

  • MUST be able to obtain a Class MB security license.
  • Or have a Class M or Class D license and have been licensed for a minimum of 3 years.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
