Overview

Nakupuna Consulting is seeking an Open Source Intelligence Analyst who will conduct all-source analytic production on sources and products of information available from public private, and U.S. and foreign Government open-source materials within established security protocols. Analyzes foreign and domestic-based publicly available information to identify trends, patterns, and relationships that provide unique insights to address defense intelligence requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct OSINT activities in response to Government Request for Information (RFI) or tasking; collect, exploit, and analyze open-source information and deliver reports in requested or required format(s).
  • Employ commercial off the shelf tools (COTS) to aggregate, structure, visualize, and assess open-source information; infer and assess the relevance, veracity, and credibility of the information and source.
  • Employ managed attribution (MA) software and associated tradecraft while executing OSINT collection activities.
  • Develop open-source strategies to support identified information requirements.
  • Leverage various tools and analytic methods to determine authenticity and currency of information gleaned from open sources.
  • Create reports using authorized templates to convey research findings; generate Open-Source Intelligence Reports (OSIRs).
  • Leverage language skills and cultural knowledge in support of OSINT activities.
  • Verbally brief findings and research methods to client.
  • Participate in meetings, conferences, and exercises, as required.


Qualifications

Skills/ Qualifications:
  • Extensive knowledge in WMD, CWMD, CBRNE, and/or related subject matter.
  • Knowledge of strengths and limitations of MA software tools and associated tradecraft.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply OSINT tradecraft and working knowledge of DoD and IC OSINT tools, policies, and procedures.
  • Demonstrated mastery of qualitative and quantitative analytic methodologies and purse developments in academia or other fields that affect tradecraft methodology.
  • Demonstrated ability to define comprehensive, new, or unique research approaches that enable rigorous assessments to address and contribute to high-level tasks.
  • Demonstrates in-depth analysis of analytic operations and knowledge management issues across organizational and intra-IC boundaries and clearly articulates key findings.
  • Demonstrated ability to review analytic products for cogent arguments, tradecraft standards, and adequate support for conclusions; routinely tests for analytic rigor of analytic products.
  • Demonstrated ability to effective plan, research, develop, and write high-quality, complex analysis, studies, projects, assignments, and briefings on key U.S. foreign policy and national security objectives focused on WMD, CBRNE, and/or related topics for the DIE, DoD, or IC.
  • Extensive knowledge of DoD, DIE, and IC policy and procedures and demonstrated knowledge of analytic tradecraft; superior ability to communicate intelligence information and judgments to generalists and specialists.
  • Demonstrated ability to produce analytic finished intelligence related to WMD, CBRNE, or related topics and broad knowledge of the role intelligence analysis plays within the DIE and IC.
  • Demonstrated ability to use a broad range of methodological tools and approaches to research, analyze, and present data (analytic or data modeling, link analysis, or software).
  • Skill in producing high quality analytic products, including finished intelligence production, using structured analytic methods and techniques.
  • Skill in use of link analysis tools, such as Analyst Notebook.
  • Skill in use of Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), Adobe, and MS Teams.


Education and Experience:
  • Education - Master's degree in an area related to the labor category from a college or university accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education; or have Bachelor's degree related to the labor category from a college or university accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and an additional 5 years of related senior experience, for a total of 17 years, as a substitute to the Master's degree.
  • Experience - Minimum 12 years of experience related to the specific labor category with at least a portion of the experience within the last 2 years.

Clearance Requirements: Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance with eligibility for CNWDI and RD caveats as required. A counterintelligence polygraph is also required. Must be a U.S. Citizen.

Work Locations: Fort Belvoir, Virginia or Reston, Virginia.

On Site vs Remote Ratio: All work will be performed on-site.

Physical Requirements: The ideal candidate must at a minimum be able to meet the following physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation:
