Leidos has a career opportunity for a Chinese-Mandarin Cryptologic Linguist/Instructor located on-site at Goodfellow AFB, in San Angelo, TX. The selected individual will provide translation services in a variety of forms, primarily global and cryptologic language training to military personnel.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Provide global language, cryptologic, language, and cultural training to military forces and civilian personnel via traditional classroom instruction, written materials, technology-based instruction, and distributed learning services.
  • Develop and integrate new global and cryptologic training materials, curriculum, and courseware for approval of US Government.
  • Adapt instructional methods to meet student language proficiency goals, learning styles, and time constraints
  • Advise Language Manager and military representatives on assessment, placement, and training needs of students
  • Track student progression and reports effectiveness of training to Language Manager and military

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree and 3+ years of experience. Additional experience can be considered in lieu of degree or in combination with an Associate's degree.
  • 3 years of operational experience as Cryptologic Linguist Analyst CM; U.S. Air Force AFSC 1N3/1A8, US Army MOS 35P, U.S. Marine Corps MMOS 2641, or Navy CTI specialties in support of authorized intelligence activities.
  • Current TS/SCI security clearance.
  • At least a level 2 language proficiency in Chinese-Mandarin (CM) of "limited working proficiency" according to the Interagency Language Roundtable (ILR). This may be verified by a Defense Language Proficiency Test (DLPT) if the test was administered while the candidate was a DoD employee and within the last 24 months by a score of 2 or higher on both the Reading and Listening tests. If no DLPT score is available, the candidate should contact the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages for civilian tests that provide ILR Level 2 verification.

Pay Range: Pay Range $61,750.00 - $111,625.00
