Who we are looking for:

Slate is looking for a Talent Management Lead (Director) to join our growing HR team. In this highly dynamic and visible role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing the talent management strategy as the company grows and evolves. You will act as a key partner to business leaders and HR colleagues in the development of modern and innovative programs. This position reports directly to the Head of Human Resources. The role offers a balance of strategic opportunity to help drive our talent management initiatives throughout our organization aligned to the business plan, and significant operational responsibility and execution. Your ability to analyze data and trends, develop effective programs, and successfully communicate and execute them will be essential in this role.

What you get to do:

Partnering with C-suite, senior leadership and functional experts to understand the future needs of the business you will:
  • Create and align the talent management strategy with the organizational and business vision and strategy, developing appropriate policies and procedures aligned to the company goals and values.
  • Lead the design and execution of performance management processes such as goal setting, performance touchpoints, evaluation, calibration and next level reviews, feedback etc. to ensure they are data-driven, objectively carried out and aligned to ongoing business needs.
  • Bring an innovative mindset and skilled approach to evolving our Talent Management efforts focused on designing equitable processes and practices that ensure we're prepared with "the right talent at the right time for the right role."
  • Design and implement talent management solutions, including executive coaching, individual development planning, talent reviews, succession planning, leader and employee on-boarding, and a leadership/behavioral development model.
  • Create career development programs with career ladders, functional competencies, and job rotations.
  • Create a skills catalog and inventory for all job families and identify anticipated future Learning and Development needs to develop skills and capabilities.
  • Oversee the development learning programs and curriculums using instructional design methodologies and/or off-the shelf solutions.
  • Establish and oversee mentoring and coaching programs to facilitate the growth and development of employees at all levels.
  • Partner cross-functionally to drive future talent program opportunities. Serve as the internal subject matter expert, ensuring efficiency and compliance.
  • Define and track success measures for talent management programs including change management and business outcomes.
  • Write communications plans and create other internal content related to our talent management programs

What you bring to the team:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, HR, Psychology, Industrial Relations, related field or equivalent experience. MBA or Masters' degree in related field preferred.
  • 7+ years of experience in designing and implementing talent management programs, practices and/or processes, in a dynamic, high-growth organization, with at least 5+ years in a leadership role.
  • You've designed, managed and scaled Talent Management programs such as performance management, talent planning, career development, succession planning, learning, executive and leadership development, etc. in support of a growing workforce.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a data-driven and evidence-based approach and structured methodologies to decision-making and influencing.
  • A track record of designing solutions that deliver business impact and positive ROI for the organization.
  • Prior experience partnering with executive leaders and the human capital team to develop appropriate talent management strategies, policies, programs, and communications
  • Proven success in influencing and partnering with diverse stakeholders and driving strategic initiatives.
  • Strong relationship-building skills to work collaboratively with partners across the organization, including senior leadership.
  • Ability to program manage complex cross-functional initiatives with multiple levels within the company.
  • Practical, hands-on experience with the development of talent frameworks and rolling-out of learning and development strategies and programs.
  • Strong skills and experience (certifications a plus) with applying change management methodologies, facilitation, coaching, and delivery of training and development programs.
  • Ability to advance multiple projects simultaneously with strong organizational skills, attention to detail and project management skills.
  • Ability to develop clear and concise written plans that present a compelling vision for the evolution of the program in line with the strategy.
  • Comfortable working with ambiguity and evolving priorities in a fast-paced environment.
