What You'll Contribute to OHM Advisors

As a Municipal Project Engineer, you will lead engineering and design efforts for construction plan sets, focusing on municipal infrastructure and utility systems. Your contributions will include managing project scopes, schedules, and budgets, ensuring regulatory compliance, and mentoring junior staff. You'll play a crucial role in collaborating with various stakeholders, supporting business development, and enhancing client satisfaction, all while fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented team environment.

Your Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and manage scope, schedule, and budget for proposals and contracts.
  • Work collaboratively with architects, engineers, planners, and technicians.
  • Mentor less experienced staff and contribute to organizational growth.
  • Effectively communicate project goals, alternatives, recommendations, and outcomes to the project team, client, and public (memos, reports, presentations, etc.).
  • Ensure designs meet all regulatory standards and best practices.
  • Prepare engineering plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
  • Oversee stormwater management systems, green infrastructure, and conveyance.
  • Anticipate project issues, including advising the client on alternatives and providing recommendations for solving issues.
  • Timely and accurate completion of OHM and sub-consultant invoices and collections.
  • Business Development and Client Satisfaction.
  • Understanding OHM services and how they relate to the client's organization and needs.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or environmental engineering with an emphasis in municipal infrastructure engineering.
  • Tennessee PE license.
  • 5-10 years of experience in civil engineering municipal design.
  • Experience in roadway geometric design, intersection detail design, water main design, sanitary sewer design, and drainage design.
  • Experience with utility coordination.
  • Experience with State of Tennessee agencies, Nashville area agencies, and TDOT is a plus.
  • Experience with AutoCAD/Civil 3D.
  • The desire and ability to maintain strong client relationships.
  • The desire and ability to train junior engineers and interns.
  • Good organizational skills and enjoy working in a team environment.
