Your Opportunity

You will work in a team environment, in collaboration with architects, engineers, designers and technologists. Together you will be developing plans, elevations, sections, 3D renderings and architectural details for projects, tailored to the needs of the client. You will have opportunity to contribute to the on-going development and application of innovative approaches to delivering high performance architecture as we seek to build on the foundation of our achievements to date, bringing an informed and nuanced sustainability strategy to all our projects.

Your Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and be responsible for projects of medium complexity/size.
  • Utilize BIM technologies to develop three-dimensional designs of buildings.
  • Interpret and apply building codes and requirements of other regulatory agencies.
  • Prepare project documentation in all architectural phases.
  • Leads bidding and negotiation phase tasks.
  • Lead contract administration phase tasks.
  • Lead project coordination and meetings with internal team members, external consultants, owners and their stakeholders, contractors, and sub-contractors.
  • Prepare project specifications.
  • Follow quality control procedures established by the practice.

Qualifications

Your Capabilities and Credentials
  • Requisite knowledge of applicable building codes.
  • Knowledge of building construction systems, materials, and industry associated standards.
  • Detailed understanding of all phases of architectural design and document production.
  • Ability to conduct space planning in coordination with building program.
  • To manage time to meet project budget and schedule.
  • To communicate concepts and ideas to others effectively.
  • Understanding of Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe, Revit, Newforma.
  • Able to work independently.

Education and Experience
  • A bachelor's or master's degree in architecture with minimum of 7 years of experience is required.
  • Professional registration as an Architect in Canada is required.
  • Previous experience in the Healthcare or Higher Education sectors is required.

The work is conducted in a studio / team environment in an office setting, working with computers. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.

Pay transparency laws require employers to provide the following information for positions that may be in the following jurisdiction(s):

Salary Range(s):
  • BC Other Areas $76,600 - BC Other Areas $111,100 Min/Max Pay Range for postings located in BC (Lower Mainland includes Vancouver & Burnaby)

The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.
