Job Description

The Opportunity:

WSP's advanced water modeling team is growing and has an opportunity for a capable hydraulic engineer to advance their skills with some of the industry's top experts in hydraulic transients and 3D simulation.

You will take on small solo projects and contribute to large regional analyses as part of a multidisciplinary team. You will leverage hands-on experience in the field "measuring what you model", and you will have opportunities to advance to take on larger and more complex projects using cutting-edge technologies and tools (transients, CFD), and/or project and people coordination and leadership. You will have direct exposure to Clients and opportunities to help grow the business and technical services.

What you can expect to do here:

As a key part of our high-performing and widely respected team, you will:

What you'll bring to WSP as an Intermediate Engineer:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering.
  • Strong engineering report writing and Client-facing skills.
  • Detain 3 to 5 years of experience in hydraulic transient modeling.
  • P.Eng. designation (or eligible to obtain within 1 year).
  • Presentation skills (client-facing and/or conference) are an asset.
  • Preference will be given to candidates meeting one or more of the following criteria:
    • Experience with Bentley HAMMER or Surge software suite,
    • Experience with InfoWater and/or ArcGIS software suites,
    • Hydraulic systems instrumentation and analysis,
    • Knowledge of pump testing and vibration analysis an asset, and/or
    • Pipe stress analysis and joint restraint design an asset.
