The Philadelphia Inquirer is seeking a dynamic and experienced Sales Director to join our management of advertising sales efforts. This team member will be responsible for driving revenue growth through strategic sales initiatives, managing key client relationships, and identifying new business opportunities. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the media landscape, exceptional interpersonal and negotiation skills, and a proven track record of success in advertising sales.

What You'll Do:
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy to achieve and exceed revenue targets.
  • Use a consultative approach to sell advertising on assigned categories and accounts
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, advertising agencies, and industry partners.
  • Manage agency coverage and relations, ensuring strong partnerships and maximizing advertising opportunities.
  • Identify new business opportunities and market trends to drive revenue growth.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including marketing, editorial, and product development, to create compelling advertising solutions that meet client needs.
  • Monitor and analyze sales performance metrics, providing regular reports and insights to senior management.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends, competitor activities, and market conditions.

Who We're Looking For:
  • 6+ years experience in multi-platform advertising sales with a track record of reaching or exceeding sales targets
  • Expert knowledge of products across print, digital, programmatic, events, content marketing, newsletters, and social media.
  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills - an outstanding ability to build relationships, influence and navigate within a complex organization
  • Proven ability to grow new business and find new revenue opportunities
  • Excellent ability to organize, prioritize, and multi-task
  • Can model positive energy and handle stress in the face of challenges
  • Experience in closing business
  • Proficient with Google Suite (Docs, Slides, Sheets)
  • Travel as business requires
