With integrated full-stack technology, our world-class team is rapidly scaling quantum computing.Quantinuum recently secured $300M in funding, visit our news pages to learn more about this and other Quantinuum scientific breakthroughs and achievements: We are seeking a Sr. Manager - QEC and Algorithm Development in our Broomfield, CO Location.Quantinuum is seeking a highly-qualified individual to lead a theory team focusing on quantum error correction and algorithm development. The manager in this position will lead and mentor theoretical physicists, have responsibility for understanding the larger teams’ needs in both technology development and commercial systems, set day-to-day priorities, coordinate research with teams in the UK, contribute to company-wide strategic planning, and work with other teams in Quantinuum to help achieve technical milestones.  This role comprises individual technical contribution, technical leadership, strategic leadership, and people-management, in roughly equal parts.  As such, candidates will boast a broad understanding in quantum computing and trapped-ion systems.  Key Responsibilities:Guide day-to-day efforts for local quantum error correction, and algorithm development theory Help coordinate and integrate (where applicable) research efforts with error correction and near-term advantage efforts in the US, UK, and Europe Provide guidance and development of direct-reporting engineer/scientists  Work with local and international leadership and technical team leads to determine long-term strategy to achieve high impact technology development Collaborate with experimental teams to the optimize performance of Quantinuum’s quantum computers and maintain a competitive advantage  Collaborate with other international theory teams to understand high level applications and associated hardware requirements  Collaborate with the architecture team to improve the performance of next generation machines  Meet objectives by hiring and developing staff with the right skills  Lead technical teams to meet programmatic performance, schedule, and scientific excellence  Help create and maintain awareness of technology demonstrations and scientific excellence via publications, presentations, and other public communications  Co-own, with other relevant stakeholders, the QEC and Algorithm technology portfolio, including IP development and capture, and long-term development strategy and roadmap  Supports external partnerships with industry and research institutions focused on QEC, leveraging insights to enhance Quantinuum's advancements. YOU MUST HAVE:PhD minimumMinimum 5+ years of post-graduate experience in theoretical quantum computing Minimum 1 year of experience serving as the leader of an advanced technical team (either task leadership or personnel management, or both)Due to Contractual requirements, must be a U.S. Person. defined as, U.S. citizen permanent resident or green card holder, workers granted asylum or refugee statusDue to national security requirements imposed by the U.S. Government, candidates for this position must not be a People's Republic of China national or Russian national unless the candidate is also a U.S. citizen.WE VALUE:Advanced degree -- Masters or PhD -- in Physics, Engineering, Computer Science or related technical field preferred  Direct experience with people-management in a technical industry  A track record of high-quality research evidenced by publications, talks, etc.  A strong and active network of professional relationships  Strong organizational & leadership skills; excellent written and verbal communication skills  Deep knowledge of trapped-ion or AMO systems and quantum benchmarking  $215,000 - $250,000 a yearCompensation & Benefits:Incentive Eligible - Range posted is inclusive of bonus target when applicableEstimated Salary Wage: $215,000 - $250,000 Annually
