DescriptionWe are looking for an experienced Data Scientist to help us uncover insights about how Apple customers experience our technologies. This includes but is not limited to:
Evaluating the accuracy of algorithms like Inline Prediction and Proofread
Understanding feature usage, such as engagement with Image Playground
Mining user feedback data to identify model soft spots
Minimum QualificationsMaster’s degree or PhD in Data Science, Statistics, Engineering or other technical field, plus 7+ years of proven experience building data-driven solutions to solve business problems, especially around launching of new products and servicesSolid experience with computer vision machine learningA deep passion for generative models and experience in using them to create applicationsStrong scripting language skills for data processing and development (e.g., Python), strong data-querying skills (SQL and/or Splunk, etc.), and experience with big dataDesigning A/B experiments and conducting statistical analysisProven experience working with Tableau or similar data visualization technologies as well as the ability to design striking and informative dashboards and reportsPreferred QualificationsExcellent communication and presentations skills, including the ability to clearly explain difficult technical topics to business partners and executivesAbility to dive into the details on product features and underlying architecture in order to define metrics and success criteria, working closely with feature engineering teamsProject leader that can continuously move multiple cross-functional projects forward with a track record of delivering on timeAbility to work cross-functionally with User Studies, Design, Marketing, and application development teams to deliver meaningful insightsExperience and passion for mentoring junior team membersExperience or interest in working across different global cultures and languagesKnowledge or interest in of non-English languages (e.g, Cantonese, Thai, Arabic)Experience with Spark or PySpark applicationsExperience with natural language processing (NLP)Pay & BenefitsAt Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $165,500 and $293,800, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs.
