MANUFACTURING ENGINEER

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES FOR THE MANUFACTURING ENGINEER
  • Provides input into the purchase, modification, and improvement of varied steel making equipment.
  • Work closely with vendors and internal staff to develop project scope, timeline and budget.
  • Manage engineering projects on time, on budget, and on deliverables.
  • Work with operations, maintenance, and technical groups to prioritize capital investment that improve reliability, increase capacity, and eliminate waste.
  • Completes standard engineering & design work related to the installation and retrofit of equipment.
  • Provides day-to-day equipment troubleshooting support to Maintenance.
  • May specialize in one of the following disciplines: Electrical, Mechanical, Civil and Combustion.
  • Perform all other duties and special projects as assigned.
REQUIRED FOR THE MANUFACTURING ENGINEER
  • Four-year college degree required.
  • Three or more years of relevant experience required.
  • Ability to work in a production-oriented environment.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize tasks and make appropriate decisions.
  • Ability to perform independent work on larger assignments requiring experience and independent judgment and under supervision of higher-level engineer, supervisor, or manager.
  • Design skills.
  • Problem solving skills.
  • Ability to manage subsets of projects.
  • Ability to apply engineering discipline training in the design of equipment and fabrications.
  • Ability to direct outside consultants, contractors, and material suppliers.
