With the power of many curious minds, together we can solve the world’s most complex challenges and deliver more impact together.Role description:Arcadis is seeking a highly experienced Senior Surface Alignment Construction Manager to oversee the construction activities related to surface infrastructure alignment for a significant tunnel project in the New York / New Jersey area. This position offers an exciting opportunity to lead the construction of critical surface infrastructure alignment for a transformative tunnel project. This role requires a seasoned professional with extensive expertise in managing heavy civil construction projects, particulally surface alignment to include bridges, viaducts, linear construction roadways, railroads, utility lines, tunnels, contaminated properties (soil or fil), straight sections, curves, turnouts (switches), crossovers, junctions, earthmoving, leveling, shaping the terrain, track structures, electrification, block signals, interlocking systems, communication grade crossings, fencing, gates, warning signs, and lighting.Role accountabilities:Lead and manage the construction of surface alignment infrastructure associated with the tunnel project, ensuring adherence to project plans, specifications, and environmental regulations.Coordinate and supervise all aspects of construction activities, including but not limited to structures, bridges, roadways, railroads, and utility lines.Manage subcontractors and vendors, ensuring they meet project requirements, safety standards, and quality expectations.Develop and implement construction schedules, resource plans, and budgets to achieve project milestones and deliverables.Conduct regular inspections and quality control checks to verify work meets design specifications and regulatory requirements.Implement environmental management practices to address contaminated properties and ensure proper handling of contaminated soil or materials.Collaborate closely with project stakeholders, including engineers, designers, environmental consultants, and regulatory authorities, to resolve technical issues and ensure project success.Prepare and review technical documentation, progress reports, and project documentation for management and stakeholders.Implement effective risk management strategies to identify and mitigate potential project risks related to construction activities and environmental challengesRequired Qualifications:15+ years of progressive experience in heavy civil construction, with a focus on structures, bridges, roadways, railroads, and linear construction projects.Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.Professional Engineer (PE) license.Key Skills and Abilities:Proven track record in managing complex construction projects in sensitive environmental conditions and with contaminated properties.Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, safety standards, and environmental regulations.Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively manage teams and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.Proficiency in project management software and tools for scheduling, budgeting, and reporting.Preferred Qualifications:Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.Previous experience with linear construction projects involving contaminated properties.Why Arcadis?We can only achieve our goals when everyone is empowered to be their best. We offer nine paid holidays and 20 days PTO that accrue per year. The salary range for this position is $175,000 - $225,000.
