PRINCIPAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS):
Requirements
- Determines work to be done on assigned jobs and proceeds accordingly.
- Work from blueprints, sketches, diagrams CATIA model or verbal instructions and performs necessary calculations for angles, circumference, diameter and bend allowances, using shop math to fabricate and/or install complete or major assemblies and sub-assemblies.
- Modifies completed assemblies and sub-assemblies, when necessary.
- Performs check of fabricated items and/or checkout of systems installed.
- Utilize aircraft tooling to perform precision sheet metal operations and installations.
- Install interior shell panels and completes various interior operations as required.
- Sets up and operates standard shop equipment
- Recommends and suggests improved production methods.
- Performs all work in accordance with established work schedules and in accordance with FAA or Company Standards.
- Assists/trains others as required in performance of their job.
- Works in a safe manner in accordance with OSHA and Company Safety procedures.
- Proper documentation in DFJ's MES System
- Conceives, manufactures and adapts installation tools, when necessary, to improve repetitiveness and work hours with managements approval.
- Makes proper entries in Production and Planning Logs.
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Additional courses in sheet metal services or technical school. (5 years of aircraft mfg./production experience may be substituted for sheet metal courses)
- 2 years of aircraft manufacturing experience. (May substitute directly related education for experience.)
- Must be able to work from blueprint or sketches.
- Must be able to use calibrated tools and measuring devices.
- Must be able to set up and operate all standard shop equipment.
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.
