Primary point of contact and accountability for ensuring projects meet client's expectations. Interfaces with client engineering representatives and other discipline engineers within the Valdes organization. Responsible for leading the Valdes team and ensuring project completion within budget, schedule and conformance with specifications. Maintains good business relationships with client counterparts throughout the course of the project. Responsible for sign-off of the completed project and also a final project report to close-out the contract. May visit job site as required for exchange of information.

Responsibilities include the following:
- Strong project management experience with the capability and initiative to perform the following tasks while supervising/mentoring a staff and maintaining strong client relationships
- Participate in all required safety activities. Promote safety in all aspects of the project
- Direct, coordinate, budget, scope and manage multi-discipline projects of any size
- Manage, coordinate, and administer projects from the conceptual stages through planning, engineering, procurement, construction, start-up and prime contract closeout
- Manage one or more Project Engineers assigned under her/him to support the execution of the projects under their management
- Develop new client accounts and maintain existing business relationships with client counterparts and management team
- Review and approve invoices to the client, as well as manage estimates, schedules, and reports being sent to the client
- Supervise and coordinate the efforts of the staff to achieve client's established project objectives
- Assist Business Development and Client Manager in business related activities.
- All other duties as assigned
Technical Competencies:
- Ability to communicate complicated issues in a simple manner
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong knowledge of all engineering disciplines, plant operations within their sector
- Leadership skills such as conflict resolution, risk evaluation, mentoring and steadiness
- Ability to properly delegate and follow up with team to assure project is completed to client satisfaction on schedule and on budget
- Creativeness in providing new solutions to problems
- Basic knowledge of 2D and 3D AutoCAD software
- Strong Microsoft Office experience and knowledge of planning or scheduling software
- Knowledge of multi-discipline project design execution and construction sequence
- Responsible for Quality Control and possesses an eye for detail
- Expertise in Microsoft Office software, Microsoft Project and Primavera are pluses
- Professional registration desired

- Able to work alone or on a team in different level positions. Not afraid to take charge, but will also cooperate and coordinate with others at their level that may have more authority over the work at hand

- Conscientious, enthusiastic and extroverted personality, able to initiate and follow through on assignments with little coaching

- Able to commit to and meet project deadlines, and driven to provide outstanding service to both external and internal customers
- Basic understanding of other discipline work flow and how all departments work together to complete projects
- Takes ownership of work and follows thru to completion
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in one of the Engineering disciplines or equivalent experience
- 3+ years of related experience in project engineering or project management, or equivalent experience in one of the engineering disciplines with cross training in project execution
- Process, pharma or power background required
- Must be able to work in the US without sponsorship now, or in the future
