Job Summary:
The Sales Engineer is responsible for sale and support of company product, developing strong business relationships, and networking with clients, suppliers, and industry partners. The Sales Engineer will be supporting front end sales activities for LCI's thermal separations product lines, including customer onboarding, customer credit management, generating cost sheets, preparing purchase/lease proposals, reports, and front end project management. This individual will also be involved in the marketing aspects of the business including advertising, trade shows, workshops, technical presentations, etc. Individual will be expected to provide sales support to others to run test center trials, manage projects, conduct equipment commissioning, and provide general technical support to LCI clients.

Job Summary:
The Sales Engineer is responsible for sale and support of company product, developing strong business relationships, and networking with clients, suppliers, and industry partners. The Sales Engineer will be supporting front end sales activities for LCI's thermal separations product lines, including customer onboarding, customer credit management, generating cost sheets, preparing purchase/lease proposals, reports, and front end project management. This individual will also be involved in the marketing aspects of the business including advertising, trade shows, workshops, technical presentations, etc. Individual will be expected to provide sales support to others to run test center trials, manage projects, conduct equipment commissioning, and provide general technical support to LCI clients.
Main Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Conduct various aspects of technical sales, including prospecting, qualifying (technical and commercial), costing, generating proposals, price negotiation, sales reporting/planning. Maintain awareness of open quotes and orders in process to insure timely response. Responsible for maintaining continuity in customer relationships through frequent face to face visits at customers' facilities.
- Provide sales support in various aspects of marketing. This includes organizing and participating in industry trade shows, developing marketing materials, conducting market research, and assisting in website development & tracking.
- Provide high quality technical sales support to new and existing LCI customers. This includes assisting engineering in a sales capacity for telephone consultations, process engineering service trips, test center trials and technical reports, equipment startup services, validation services.
- Develop and maintain a strong relationship with LCI's principal equipment suppliers. This includes actively participating in sales meetings, travel, etc.
- All other duties that may be necessary from time to time outside the normal scope of your job description that will contribute toward the Company meeting its goals and objectives.
- 10-20% travel; domestic and international
Your Skills & Traits:
- B.S. in Chemical Engineering or mechanical engineering.
- 3 - 5years of experience in technical sales or supporting role (chemical, mechanical, or industrial equipment industries). Experienced sales engineers are preferred for this role.
- High level of proficiency with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)
- Familiarity in heat transfer, fluid dynamics, chemical system design, and rotating equipment
- Proficiency in Sales based Databases considered a plus (e.g. Microsoft Dynamics CRM)
- Strong communication, presentation and writing skills
- Strong ability to quickly research companies, prospect, and qualify potential customers
