The Role

AXS is seeking a Technical Writer to join our team in Los Angeles, CA. The Technical Writer produces high-quality documentation (primarily for internal technical audiences) that contributes to the overall success of AXS products.

What Will You Do?
  • Create clear documentation in the form of user guides, integration guides, API developer guides, in-platform instructions, installation/configuration instructions and system operations
  • Research, write, edit and revise content that is both engaging and accessible to user personas with both non-technical and technical backgrounds.
  • Publish weekly release notes to internal and external stakeholders with information on product updates, releases and fixes
  • Edit other writers' content and documentation for consistency and continuously update content with current information
  • Validate products for issues, provide insight to resolving problems and ensure documentation is accurate and consistent
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including Development, Engineering, Quality Assurance, Product Management, Project Management, Product Marketing and Client Services
  • Prepare best practices for curating information repositories/wikis for general consumption


What Will You Bring?
  • 2-4 years experience in technical writing
  • BA/BS Degree or the equivalent in experience in English, Communication, Journalism, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Technical Writing, Teaching, Curriculum Development or Scientific Publication
  • Experience with documentation publishing software
  • Experience working within IT Development, SaaS, or web-based technology environment
  • Experience with source control systems and workflow tools such as Git, JIRA, Confluence
  • Strong communication skills, including written, verbal, and presentation
  • Ability to communicate complex technical topics to non-technical stakeholders both internally and externally
  • Laser focus on--and commitment to-- deadlines
  • Ability to manage multiple writing assignments simultaneously
  • Ability to thrive, without much oversight, in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment

Bonus points if You Have
  • Experience with coding languages, including .NET, React, Node.js, PHP
  • Experience using API documentation
  • Experience with localization workflows
  • Experience working with Agile/Scrum software development teams
  • Experience in prioritizing and understanding the lifecycle of documentation from pre-release through ongoing maintenance

Pay Scale: $80,494.50
