This position is based in our Irvine, California Corporate Headquarters with the opportunity for a hybrid schedule.

Your role:

Ingram Micro's Global Sourcing function is undergoing a significant transformation, expanding our capabilities, and accelerating value delivery for the organization's Indirect spend. Reporting into Operations places the function at the heart of the action, working with a leadership team that is invested in our success. As a Sr. Strategic Sourcing Manager, you will be responsible for leading sourcing activities for within a category team with the goal of realizing significant value for the company. Value is defined as including but not limited to; cost reductions, improved quality of products and services, contributing to our Supplier Diversity and Sustainability objectives and assuring supply continuity. You will be adept at aligning the function's strategies and goals with those of your primary stakeholders, engaging them in robust discussions to differentiate their business needs from wants. You will be expected to develop a keen understanding of the business and how you're spend category supports it. Your perspective will need to be broader than typical of sourcing roles. Leveraging your knowledge and insights you will attain trusted advisor status with your business partners including executives, professionally challenging them, and presenting alternative points of view or courses of action. Motivated by stretch goals and high expectations of yourself, you are a self-motivated sourcing "hunter" while being a team player. Given the significant transformation that the function is undergoing you should be comfortable with ambiguity while maintaining clarity of direction, adapting your approach in a rapidly changing environment while never losing site of your and the stakeholder's goals. You should understand the differences between Indirect and Direct Sourcing and be able to clearly articulate what they are and how that impacts the approach to a category. As an effective change agent, you have a comprehensive understanding of strategic sourcing methodologies and how to use them to construct a meaningful category plan encompassing a 3-5-year time horizon. This role is demanding, requiring the ability to pivot at a moment's notice, while advancing your overall category strategy.   • Responsible for leading Strategic Sourcing efforts within defined spend categories representing significant expenditure.
  • The development of short-term and long-term category specific strategies and plans that align with the Company goals for realizing value, reducing costs, and meeting financial expectations, while managing vendor performance and relationships.
  • Effectively document, communicate, and gain buy-in for the strategies from global and regional function and Operations leaders. Prepare vendor recommendations for decision-making.
  • Interact with stakeholders to develop, engage, and lead supplier relationships that drive the greatest value in supplier quality, total cost effectiveness, enhanced service levels, risk management, sustainability, supplier diversity, and innovation.
  • Manage the ongoing performance of our suppliers including setting objectives and service level agreements (SLAs), tracking, and reporting KPI performance, supplier scorecards, and prioritizing and leading improvement efforts where warranted.
  • Create and excite category sourcing strategies including development and execution of RFI's and RFP's, document bid events with suppliers; develop selection criteria based on a thorough understanding of the business needs and drive the selection and approval process of suppliers in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Develop negotiation strategies, gain alignment from stakeholders, lead cross-functional, category-based negotiation teams, and implement appropriate supplier risk analysis.
  • Leverage 3rd party subject matter experts and industry networks to secure information on industry category trends, benchmarking, and best practices.
  • Manage contracts, contract negotiation, and contractual dispute resolutions.
  • Develop and utilize a Strategic Sourcing playbook to empower key stakeholders and maximize strategic sourcing leverage, optimize project design, and minimize project durations and cost.


What you bring to the role:

  • BA/BS degree in Supply Chain Management or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • 10+ years functional experience required and 7+ years of positions specific experience in Indirect Strategic Sourcing and Category Management.
  • Recognized SME within own business unit and across the company with RFI, RFQ, RFP and bid analysis.
  • Collaborate with technology groups to develop long range sourcing and category plans based on organizational goals and priorities.
  • Drive the creation/communication of savings targets and initiatives to across various stakeholders and organizational executives.
  • Supply Chain Operations experience a plus.
  • Experience sourcing and partnering with stakeholders on a global basis.
  • Accomplished practitioner of Strategic Sourcing processes with commercial and business acumen beyond Strategic Sourcing.
  • Strong Supplier Relationship Management skills.
  • Strong financial, quantitative, cost modeling, and data analysis skills.
  • Experience negotiating complex contracts including strategic partnerships, pricing, SLAs, and other terms and conditions.
  • Ability to assess suppliers against their contractual commitments and develop performance improvement plans for those not meeting commitments.
  • Change agent with ability to influence at all levels of the organization and with suppliers.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong project management and process improvement skills.
  • Problem solving experience in reducing total costs, improving processes, and reducing supplier risk.

The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $125,600.00 - $213,500.00 per year.

The ranges above reflect the potential annual base pay across the U.S. for all roles; the applicable base pay range will depend on the candidate's primary work location, pay grade, and variable compensation plan. Individual base pay within each range depends on various factors, in addition to primary work location, such as complexity and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements, and relevant experience and skills. Base pay ranges are reviewed and typically updated each year. Offers are made within the base pay range applicable at the time of hire. New hires starting base pay generally falls in the bottom half (between the minimum and midpoint) of a pay range.
