Your Opportunity
Our Transportation practice has an immediate requirement for a Bridge/Structural Engineer in our Saskatoon or Regina offices. This position requires an individual to have bridge design skills with demonstrated strong collaboration and communication skills. Project management experience is considered an asset. The broad skill sets that may be called upon to execute a variety of tasks may include: proposal and work plan preparation; engineering design; drawing review; and coordination with other disciplines and team resources.

Your Opportunity

The broad skill sets that may be called upon to execute a variety of tasks may include: proposal and work plan preparation; engineering design; drawing review; and coordination with other disciplines and team resources.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Producing, supervising, and managing the creation of engineering products on a wide variety of bridge, culverts and other structural rehabilitation and new design projects from concept through construction that meet and exceed customer quality requirements.
- Working both independently and as part of a team to define the problem, establish the work scope, prepare budgets and schedules, plan the work, and provide technical direction and oversight.
- Performing complex technical engineering tasks efficiently and accurately, while leading and mentoring less experienced team members.
- Preparing and checking detailed engineering calculations and models, drawings, specifications, quantities and cost estimates, detailed technical reports, procurement documents, design packages, proposals, and detailed analyses.
- Providing technical engineering services during construction, including the review of contractor submissions.
- Performing inspections of existing complex bridges and other structures including coordinating and leading inspection teams and specialized sub-consultants, providing renewal and repair recommendations, and completing life cycle cost analyses.
- Contributing to successful project pursuits, including determining budget estimates and staffing requirements and writing winning proposals.
- Performing Project Management duties including assembling and managing project teams, controlling project budgets and schedules, quality control of deliverables, client interaction and management, and financial reporting.
- Working to tight project schedules while ensuring quality of project deliverables.
- Providing input and technical guidance to CAD Designer/Drafters, Designers, and less experienced Engineers working on the same and other projects.
- Ensuring compliance with all applicable codes and regulations.
Qualifications
Your Capabilities and Credentials
- Strong knowledge of CHBDC (CSA S6), AASHTO and Saskatchewan Ministry of Highways design codes.
- Working knowledge of Transportation Association of Canada's Geometric Design Guide for Canadian Roads and Saskatchewan Ministry of Highways Bridge Design Manuals will be an asset.
- Proficiency in the use of computer modelling techniques using software such as SAP, STAAD, CSiBridge.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience in Project Management and Construction Administration would be an asset.
- Experience with City of Saskatoon, City of Regina and Saskatchewan Ministry of Highways design details and specifications is considered an asset.
- Registered as a Professional Engineer in the Province of Saskatchewan (or eligible for licensing with APEGS).
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering or related field & Licensed Professional Engineer. Minimum of 5 years of experience.
