About the Role
The Company is seeking a Vice President of Finance and Administration to play a pivotal role in the financial and administrative management of the organization. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the creation and implementation of strategic financial and operating systems that align with the company's mission. This includes ensuring compliance with grantmaking, government grants, and philanthropic partnerships. The role demands a leader who can advise on financial planning, budgeting, and policy matters, and who is adept at navigating the complexities of nonprofit financial management. The VPFA will also be tasked with managing external financial consultants, preparing financial statements, and overseeing the annual budget and forecasts. The ideal candidate will have a business or accounting degree, with an MBA and/or CPA preferred, and a minimum of 10 years experience in a senior financial/operations management role, particularly in a high-growth environment. Experience with grantmaking organizations and a proven track record in nonprofit compliance are essential. The role requires a strategic thinker with a hands-on approach, strong leadership skills, and a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. The VPFA will be expected to have excellent judgment, creative problem-solving skills, and the ability to work effectively with a diverse team. A passion for the company's mission of strengthening Black-led organizations and movements is a must.
