Director- Engineering Lead for OTC derivatives Sub-Ledger

This system handles millions of trades daily and conduct all sub-ledger activities and is a critical system for the bank. This platform requires both refurbishment and renovation into next generation sub-ledger.We invite applications from experienced and well rounded senior technologist for a Director level role. The candidate should be comfortable coding 50% of their time. Candidates are expected to demonstrate strong delivery background in financial industry, preferably in accounting software. We expect depth of knowledge in Java stack and breadth of knowledge in modernization of legacy platforms, evolving systems into horizontally scalable architectures using AWS, distributed architectures and databases. Candidate should be willing to drive re-architecture and lead by example. Candidate should be able to work in Kubernetes based deployments in both on-prem and external cloud and deal with variety of build technologies. Strong knowledge of enterprise integration patterns and tools like Camel or Conductor will be valued highly. Candidate should have a track record of establishing engineering practices in their team and beyond in their organization. Candidate will have limited line management responsibilities, intentionally designed to provide focus on coding. This is a senior role and there will be regular interfacing with senior stakeholders across the bank. Candidate will be expected to demonstrate an established track record of handling senior stakeholders & lead such discussions independently.Growth opportunities are excellent and in future candidate will have options of choosing between engineering and management tracks. The team you’ll be working with is distributed across 3 countries, has a senior and stable team and work in a collaborative environment. Candidate’s success criteria will be determined by uplifting the engineering quality. Candidate will have access to a vast tool kit both on-prem and cloud to meet complex finance, supervisory and regulatory requirements and the demands of an increasingly electronic business.
