Electrophysiology with well-established practice in a physician-led health syste
CoxHealth, Springfield, MO, United States
CoxHealth has an opportunity for a BC/BE Electrophysiology Cardiologist to continue the ongoing growth in the department. Join two supportive mid-career EP partners in the most complex and complete EP program in the region. The EP group works with five interventional, two non-interventional cardiologists, three Cardiothoracic Surgeons, and extensive midlevel provider and administrative support. This position offers a highly competitive salary and benefits package, with excellent earning potential.
Qualified candidates must be willing to perform
- Complex ablations, including atrial fibrillation and ventricular tachycardia; epicardial work is available but not necessary
- All manner of device procedures including safe and effective cardiac resynchronization and leadless pacemaker cases.
Special skills of interest include neurocardiac ablation (the center has the most experience in the region with this procedure) and left bundle branch area pacing.
This partner will practice primarily at Cox Medical Center South, a 706-bed facility, and will serve the CoxHealth system with 1,194 beds total. This busy and growing system sees 300,000 ER/urgent care visits per year, 232,000 hospital-days of patient care, and more than 1,500,000 clinic visits each year. The two electrophysiologists are the sole providers of EP procedures in this high-volume system, and adding a third partner will allow for continued growth of the program. Cox South is a Level 1 STEMI, Level 1 Trauma, and Level 1 Stroke Center, the only system in the region performing high volume complex EP procedures, and the only center in the region at all performing several types of ablations. Other hospital networks refer all complex ablation out of city.
A new suite of 3 EP labs was custom-built along-side a fully staffed and integrated pre-op and post-op area to support smooth and efficient EP lab days, and all rooms feature state of the art design and top of the line fluoro and EP equipment.
A general cardiology practice with the EP practice is entirely optional; existing providers choose to practice electrophysiology only and this option will exist for the new partner as well. The practice includes independent pacemaker clinic, NP-led and run AFib Clinic, NP new patient welcome clinic, full time Holter/patch monitor clinic, and a full 13-member clinical research team with active investigations for Boston Scientific and Biosense Webster in the EP space.
