Capitol Broadcasting Company is seeking a talented, driven General Sales Manager to help our Sunrise Broadcasting team in Wilmington, N.C. consistently exceed local radio, television and digital revenue goals. This position will use your sales and management experience to lead a team that provides multi-platform, custom advertising solutions and strategies to local businesses. You'll represent the biggest local brands in the market. The ideal candidate possesses knowledge of marketing tactics that drive results and the ability to create and leverage sales opportunities for local, regional and national accounts.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Determine local sales team's unique selling position, establish capabilities separation from competition, then use to drive more local market revenue for radio, television and digital channels.
  • Work with local sales, programming and promotions teams to create and present unique customer-focused campaigns using powerful local digital, television and audio brands.
  • Collaborate with local business prospects to define campaign goals, then track and optimize based on interpretation of analytics.
  • Help sales team forge and grow strong business relationships in the local market.
  • Generate forecast reports and help prepare annual budgets/strategic plans.
  • Track team activities in CRM to uncover opportunities for both professional and revenue growth.
  • Handle house and national account relationships.
  • Manage sales inventory, including national barter and trade for promotion and sponsorships.
  • Work across all station departments on campaign execution, collections, commissions, promotions, and sales package creation
  • Manage day-to-day sales operations including conducting individual and team sales training, overseeing new business efforts, developing new leads and helping to solidify existing client relationships.
  • Augment a healthy, positive culture that reinforces teamwork and professionalism.

Key Qualifications:
  • Great problem-solving skills, creative development and analytical abilities
  • Understanding of the local Wilmington market and potential growth opportunities
  • Must be organized, self-motivated, capable of multi-tasking and task prioritization
  • Experience in driving revenue to achieve budget goals
  • Minimum 2 years of media sales management experience required
  • Working knowledge of digital products, tactics and applications
  • Knowledge of Excel, Windows, and media software such as WideOrbit, Media Monitors, Matrix (or comparable CRM.)
