The National Account Manager is responsible for growing FGF’s existing business and gaining profitable new business with targeted national restaurant chains. (top 200). 

This position reports to the Sr. Director, Business Development North America. The position works closely with Foodservice Sales, Marketing, Research and Development, Customer Service, Q/A and Operations.  You will be primarily responsible for achieving customer acquisition, customer retention, and revenue/profit goals for National & Large Regional accounts. You will be an impact player and will have an immense ability to help develop the company’s long-term strategy; influence the corporate culture, and have the opportunity for accelerated career growth.

The ideal candidate will be humble, yet confident with a strong entrepreneurial DNA. He/she will be aggressive and have a strong track record of growth/success and a thorough understanding of, and relationships with, the bakery or other value added Foodservice product line and categories within major Foodservice Distribution and Key Account Channels throughout the Western US marketplace. He/She has the ability to thrive in an entrepreneurial, dynamic and fast-paced business.

Salary - $120 -140 K USD + Car Allowance + Benefits / 401 k + Bonus

Primary Responsibilities

  • Penetrating and growing the top (mid-scale, fast casual, casual dining) restaurant chains in North America. 
  • Develop the most cost-effective sales strategies to drive volume and profitability through increased account penetration and promotion.
  • Establish new product Channels and product applications via a focused effort to access Alternate Channel sales into Assemblers & Commissaries with the FGF product line.
  • Work closely with the overall Foodservice team to gain market share in the West.
  • Utilize planning, budgeting, and tracking of Foodservice Promotional spend, to maximize relationships and contractual agreements related to key customers
  • Maintain and grow existing base of business by increasing menu usage of existing products with current accounts, selling existing items, and developing new proprietary products.

Education & Experience

  • Experience with and/or a passion for Value Added Branded Food products a must.
  • Minimum of 5 years of sales/sales leadership experience within the National Account Foodservice channel.
  • Proven track record of building key relationships within large chain accounts.
  • Experienced making top-to-top sales presentations to both corporate and divisional executives in the National Account Channel.
  • Existing National Account relationships in the Western USA a must.
  • Must possess key competencies including strategic vision and analytical skills enhanced by intuitive consumer insight and full Microsoft Office competence (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Demonstrated ability to develop an effective sales, pricing, and distribution strategy; develops plans to support the strategy; ensure execution of plans.
  • Experienced in building effective alliances with marketing and all other internal resource departments within the customer organization.
  • Entrepreneurial, innovative DNA with excellent organizational and communication skills (both verbal and written). Must be a “risk taker” that is never satisfied with the status quo.
  • Must be willing to embrace speed, change and uncertainty.
  • Travel: As with any new position at this level, travel is expected to be higher (50-60%) during the first year.
  • University degree preferred. Candidates with equivalent business experience will be considered.
  • Culinary background or experience a plus.
