Product Engineer, Senior

Job Description:

The Senior Product Engineer will be working as member of our PE team with our R&D teams. A successful candidate will be responsible of maintaining and improving released laser products or laser product lines, monitor and report yield and performance trends, collaborate with CMs, the fab and other engineering teams on keeping the product line healthy. In addition, the product engineer will help drive new product developments to their full release. Hands on device characterization duties can be part of the assignment if the candidate expresses interest.

Job Duties:
  • Generate and present run charts and SPC charts.
  • Observe, report, understand and work towards a solution on product yield issues.
  • Daily interaction with the production engineers for feedback and trouble shooting.
  • Review test data and release product to finished goods inventory.
  • Review Test Data and report to R&D for new development wafers.
  • Generate specifications and sorting algorithms for new products.
  • Generate test requirements for new product development.
  • Generate internal Part numbers and BOM for new products
  • Generate and optimize automated test ids and release them.


Job Qualifications:
  • BS, (MS or PhD preferred) in Mathematics or technical field. (EE preferred)
  • Knowledge of Basic Statistics.
  • Ability to write software to electronically allocate devices by test performance.
  • Keen attention to detail and accuracy.

Other Special Skills
  • Six Sigma green belt or above.
  • Knowledge of laser parameters.
  • Knowledge of SQL, C, Matlab, MS Excel, JMP, Python.
  • Ability to test lasers electrically and optically.
  • General knowledge of MS Windows operating systems and computer networking.


Pay range in Ithaca, NY:

Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location.

Base salary: $69,800/yr - $120,000/yr
