Job Description: The Vendor Management Consultant as a part of the Vendor Management Organization [VMO] within the Group Purchasing Organization [GPO] will proactively engage and drive strategy in line with corporate objectives and support the management of a portfolio of vendors to extract maximum value for the organization from existing contracts and relationships. This includes contract management, and relationship management. The role requires regular interaction with management from strategic and preferred suppliers, as well as the business owners.
The Vendor Management Consultant will support the management of our key vendors in alignment with agreed financial outcomes, as well as business vision and strategy, and will be assigned to support the management of specific vendors and/or contracts at a global level, partnering with the business owners. The Vendor Management Consultant will ensure that the vendors are delivering against their contractual obligations and that is receiving expected value.
Deliverable:
- Execute on vendor specific management strategies.
- Manage the IT resource outsourcing contracting process between outsourced vendors, legal, key stakeholders, and finance.
- Collaborate with key business stakeholders to understand business requirements and vendor performance; support the implementation of appropriate vendor management strategies.
- Support the relationship survey process and vendor performance reviews for strategic/complex relationships.
- Ensure compliance with enterprise policies and procedures.
- Deliver financial optimization by driving compliance to contractual agreements.
- Other responsibilities as assigned.
Additional Skills:
- 4-year college degree.
- At least 5 years of experience.
- 3 years of IT labor contract negotiating and managing vendors.
- Minimum of 3 years of sourcing and/or vendor management experience.
- Work experience in category management, supply chain, vendor management and/or procurement.
- Comprehensive knowledge of procurement policies and regulations.
- Strong advocate, familiarity and technical competence with P2P management software (GEP).
- Competency to manage priorities and procurement timelines through analytical capabilities.
- General knowledge of accounting, finance, and marketing.
- Experience at working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
- Experience effectively prioritizing and executing tasks in a high-pressure environment.
