US West Landscape Architecture and Planning team has over 55+ staff in 6 states (California-Northern and Southern, Texas, Nevada, Denver, Washington, and Oregon) and 10 offices. We operate as one team in various locations. The US West Region generates more diverse projects and clients that produces more team stability.
Your Opportunity
We are seeking a Senior Landscape Architect, Project Manager to join our growing Community Development Team. You will work closely with our Southern California teams, manage projects, assist with designs, construction documents and construction administration California. The successful candidate will work within with the Community Development practice, and collaborate with Architecture, Environmental, and Engineering disciplines and other Business Lines.
As a Senior Landscape Architect, you will work in a team environment on a wide range of projects and scales such as planning and design of parks and recreation facilities; bicycle, pedestrian, and multiuse trails; sports and athletic facilities; healthcare, urban infill, corporate, and educational campuses; and master planned communities including mixed-use and transit-oriented developments. You will lead and assist with assignments across disciplines, manage assignments, provide urban and landscape architecture design experience, and interact with existing and prospective clients with exemplary communication skills and a strategic and design-oriented perspective.
You will work within a local and virtual team setting. You will be primarily working remotely and in person will be as needed per project. In office work local travel will be required for attending client or public meetings, scoping new assignments, and participating in internal meetings with staff in Community Development and across all business lines.

Bachelor's or Master's degree from an accredited Landscape Architecture program. Minimum 10 years of experience.

Your Key Responsibilities
- Project management
- Prepare and oversee project scoping, concept design through construction document phase and construction administration.
- Prepare and assist with proposal preparation from internal clients and other disciplines.
- Oversee and manage support staff on projects.
- Staff mentorship and inter-office collaboration.
- Client relationships and client-facing responsibility on key assignments.
- Develop creative solutions and quality control review on documents.
- Business development experience - preferred but not required.
Your Capabilities and Credentials
- Licensed Landscape Architect in California
- Experience with public and private sectors in major Southern California Cities and Counties, including LA County.
- Demonstrated responsibility, maturity, and commitment to a team driven environment are key capabilities, including an ability to communicate effectively, lead teams, develop strong internal relationships, and foster a culture of collaboration.
- Desire and the ability to lead and contribute on multiple levels within the design process.
- Excellent creative and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to integrate sustainability in all aspects of planning and design.
- Well-versed in local, regional, and national trends in planning, landscape architecture and urban design.
- Ability to successfully scope and deliver multi-disciplinary projects.
- Excellent verbal and presentation skills.
- Proficient in AutoCAD, Adobe Suite and Microsoft Office; LandFX preferred but not required.
- High-level understanding and working knowledge of GIS, Sketch-Up, or similar platforms at a supervisory level of effectiveness.
- Possesses excellent time management skills and has a thorough understanding of task assignment and schedule, budgeting, and efficient use of time and resources.
- Thorough understanding of codes, legal and design requirements in relevant jurisdictions and how they apply to design projects.
- Demonstrated effectiveness in building and maintaining client relationships; Proven ability to translate those relationships into winning new work opportunities; Conduct presentations and project interviews - preferred but not required.
- Good driving record and valid driver's license required.
Education and Experience
