Position Summary
*Positions will be filled for various locations throughout the city.
GENERAL SUMMARY: The supervisor will conduct recreation activities with groups in the community, organize, lead and promote age appropriate activities, such as sports, games, social recreation, and hobbies, taking into account the needs and interests of individual members; and perform other duties as assigned. The supervisor is responsible for the general safety and supervision of all participants.

The supervisor is responsible for the general safety and supervision of all participants.
Job Duties
- Enforce rules and regulations.
- Prepare and submit reports and paperwork to the program supervisor.
- Administer first aid and follow emergency procedures in case of accident or injury.
- Respond or attend to public concerns, problems or suggestions.
- Notify the proper authority (for example, police, neighborhood supervisor) for elevated or out of control problems.
- Report broken equipment and vandalism to the neighborhood recreation supervisor; and thefts per established
- processes.
- Prepare and implement recreation programs in City parks, facilities, or open spaces.
- Complete required paperwork to report thefts.
- Cooperate and communicate with other recreation staff.
- Be aware of additional activity at program locations
- Maintain control of keys for facilities and Rec n Roll trailer, clean and maintain equipment, ensure safety of equipment in use as well as area that is being programmed.
- Organize recreational activities.
- Gather information in order to provide services to participants.
- Explain regulations, policies, or procedures.
- Demonstrate activity techniques or equipment use.
- Liaise between department and community to improve communication.
- Greet participants and visitors.
- Accompany individuals or groups to activities.
- Recreation Safety and Security - Knowledge of relevant equipment, policies, procedures, and strategies to promote safety and security of participants and facilities during recreational activities.
- Customer Service - Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer service including needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of participant satisfaction.
- Education and Training - Knowledge of principles and methods for training teaching and instruction of rules and regulations and for individuals and groups.
- Coordination - Changing what is done based on other staff and program collaboration and program needs.
- Service Orientation - Looking for ways to help people.
- Monitoring - Keeping track of how people and/or groups are doing in order to make improvements; and of safety of the facility and grounds.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- At least 15 years of age. See
- Recreation or education experience.
