With the power of many curious minds, together we can solve the world’s most complex challenges and deliver more impact together.Role description:Join Arcadis’s growing national Water Infrastructure Design Services group as a Senior Electrical Engineer with specialty in providing electrical engineering for water and wastewater facilities primarily in the Northeast region, but with opportunities nationally and globally. We’re looking for a technical expert with 15+ years in the water industry with thorough knowledge of taking an electrical design from budgeting/planning/concept through detailed design and into construction. You should be able to manage electrical design work at large scale waste/wastewater facilities in New York City for the DEP. Depending on your career desires, this position starts as a Senior or Principal Engineer within the group but could lead to Northeast or even National Electrical Group Lead roles. You will be involved in a variety of electrical engineering tasks for Municipal and Industrial water/wastewater projects; such as those regarding the design, analysis, and layout of substations, power distribution systems, standby power systems, lighting systems, data communications, equipment relay logic, fire alarm and instrumentation and controls systems, with support from one of the best-qualified consulting firms in the country and a strong nationally recognized technical staff. This position will initially report to the Electrical Department Manager.Role accountabilities:Support projects and clients in the planning, design and construction of water/wastewater facilities and other similar industrial facilities, serving as Arcadis’ main point of contact with our clients for their electrical needs.Developing project proposals for new and existing clients in the water/wastewater industry and similar type industries.Development of project management skills including support in managing budgets and delivery schedules for each assignment; for project/task scope schedule and budget.Electrical design and coordination of various projects with an emphasis on motor controls, power distribution, lighting, and communications, for new water/wastewater, and industrial projects.Coordinate with Project Managers, Architects, Civil, Process-Mechanical, HVAC, Plumbing, I&C/SCADA, and Structural engineers to plan and design electrical systems for new or modified facilities.Design work will require a basic proficiency with CAD Programs (Revit, Navisworks, etc.) specifically concerning as mentioned electrical systems for Engineering Design and Construction projects.Establishing design criteria, performing design calculations, developing one-line diagrams, control schematics, plans, and specifications.Performing engineering services during construction, including reviewing equipment submittals, shop drawings and responding to contractor RFI’s (requests for information).Conducting field inspections, overseeing projects in construction which includes identifying deviations from design, performing general QA/QC of completed work, and monitoring safety compliance.Performing system analysis using ETAP, SKM Power Tools, or other power systems analysis software.Travel (as required) to support project needs.Qualifications & Experience:Required QualificationsBachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, electrical engineering technology, a related discipline or equivalent work experience10 years of experience of consulting experience in electrical engineering water/wastewater and industrial facility electrical designRegistered Professional Engineer (PE)Key Skills and AttributesBasic knowledge and experience using AutoCAD MEP (2D and 3D) and/or RevitDemonstrated working knowledge of SKM Power Tools, short circuit calculations, overcurrent coordination, and/or arc flash analysis, and photometric study (Visual 3D or Dialux)Experience with SEL, GE Multilin, or similar relaysSolid working knowledge of the National Electrical Code requirementsWillingness and desire to mentor junior/staff electrical engineersPreferred QualificationsExperience with blue beam and BIM360Medium voltage design experienceContinue your career journey as an Arcadian.We can only achieve our goals when everyone is empowered to be their best.
